In conjunction with its 10th Anniversary, BCC launched a new brand identity that reflects the organization’s maturity and ambition. This year Melinda Doolittle joined the chorus again to sing a concert based on Dr. King’s quote that “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” WWW.BOSTONCHILDRENSCHORUS.ORG “We can handle these kinds of mature topics and handle them thoughtfully and bring meaning to them.” --Emma Kromm, BCC Singer New Commission BCC commissioned and premiered an ambitious new work entitled, A Boy Called King, in partnership with the Institute of Contemporary Arts/Boston. Written for chorus and dance, the singers explored social issues that impact youth from all walks of life. From performances in orphanages, historic sites and opera houses, BCC singers become steeped in Southeast Asian culture.
