Please note that there has been a change in the
baseball schedule for Saturday. The varsity baseball
team will not be playing. The JV team will play
Harrison at Highland Park with an 11:00 a.m. start
time.
The Kokomo girls’ tennis team had a huge
win last night against the Northwestern
Tigers and were able to take the match 3-2.
Juliana del Bosque remained solid at the #2
singles position and easily took care of her
opponent by winning 6-0, 6-0.
Sarah Tickfer and Allie Lyons-Lowe also
had a great match at the #2 doubles position.
Winning a tie breaker in the first set 6-6 (73) the duo came out in the second set playing
much more aggressive and were able to win
6-2.
At the #1 singles position, Rachel Stout
played one of her best matches of the season
and pulled out a 6-1, 6-3 win for the Kats. It
is extremely tough to play that #1 spot every
match and all the pressure that goes along
with that. Rachel is doing a great job
staying focused and trying to improve her
game each time she plays. She is learning to
be more patient and adjust her game to the
style she needs to in order to beat her
opponent.
Next up for the Kats is conference opponent
Lafayette Jeff at home on Saturday at 10 am.
Hopefully the Kats can keep their winning
streak going and pull out another win. Go
Kats!
The Lady Kats put up seven runs in
the first two innings and cruised to a
10-0 win over Lafayette Jeff to move
our record to 10-3, 2-1 in the
conference.
Ramsie Hurlock led the way at the
plate with three hits in three plate
appearances, including a double.
Cathy Skaggs had a pair of hits with
a double, and Rachel Lawson and
Savannah Emmons both had two hits
in three at-bats. Sarah Haughn,
Paige Ward, and Katelyn Dowden
had our other hits.
Rachel Lawson was the winning
pitcher. She went all six innings,
struck out nine, and only allowed
three hits.
The Lady Kats are back in action at
home on Saturday with a double
header against Muncie Central.

Kokomo boys’ golf team faced off with Peru on Thursday afternoon at the
Kokomo Country Club and the visiting Bengal Tigers came away with a 165174 victory over the Wildkats.
The medalist on Thursday was Peru's Cameron Smith, who shot a one-over par
36. Smith, who is the son of PGA Professional Chris Smith, is an IUPUI
recruit and is one of the top high school golfers in the area.
Leading the Wildkats on Thursday was senior Zach Watterson with a 39.
Watterson continues to improve as the season progresses and his scores are
beginning to reflect that improvement. Next for Kokomo was junior Conner
Wood with a 43. Senior Ryan Balog, and juniors Sam Seagrave and Dominic
Tarapasky all came in with scores of 46.
Kokomo now stands at 4-4 for the season and will face Taylor at the Kokomo
Country Club on Friday afternoon.
The Kokomo JV squad, coached by Paul Hamilton, improved to 4-2 on the
season by defeating Peru by a final score of 180-196. Senior exchange student
Long Le was medalist on Thursday at the American Legion with an impressive
score of 39. Senior Joey Rodriquez was next for Kokomo with a 44.
Sophomore Vinh Lee added a 48 and sophomore Cole Hanson completed the
JV scoring with a 49.
The Kokomo Varsity and JV squads will both compete in separate
tournaments on Saturday in Valparaiso.
