DYNAMIC CATHOLIC, ALIVE! —
MISSIONARY DISCIPLESHIP
When Jesus says the “Kingdom is at hand,”
do we really believe Him? And do we
recognize our own role in bringing about
the Kingdom of Heaven, here and now?
Our call to missionary discipleship is not
something optional, but rather is at the
heart of our life in Christ. It’s up to us to
respond with faithful hearts and to prepare
ourselves to be among the few laborers
called to claim the rich harvest of God’s
coming Kingdom. (CCC 2816)

SOCIAL JUSTICE — GLOBAL SOLIDARITY
“Love thy neighbor.” A person next door or on the
other side of the world. We all, each one is known
and loved by our Creator — how can we not love all
God’s great family.
“Inter-generational solidarity is not optional, but
rather a basis question of justice since the world
we have received also belongs to those who will
follow us.”
~ Pope Francis
ROOM AT THE INN (RATI)
Room at the Inn is in need of men’s t-shirts, small & medium jeans, sweat pants and sweat shorts, new underwear and socks, and diapers (sizes 3-6)
STEPHEN MINISTRY
"Hear now...while I declare what He has done for me.
Blessed be God who refused me not my prayer or His
kindness! "
~ Psalm 66: 16, 20
Our Saturday July 9, event is a picnic in the park. Cost is
$5.00 per person. We will furnish chicken from
Schnucks, water & soda. Everyone bring a dish to share.
Bring anything special you want to drink. Bring a game
you like, and we will have a great time.
Eat about 1:00 PM. We have the Maryland Heights Pavilion all the way in the back of Vago Park. Same as last
year. Call Bob 739-6384 by Wednesday July 6, so we
know how much chicken we will need. Would also like
payment by then.
Many of us turn to prayer in our most difficult moments...hoping to 'catch God's ear'...to bring a change in
our circumstances for the better. Some may turn to a
friend, a spouse...an 'ear' to listen as we try to find our
way through our struggle. We have the listening, caring
Lay Stephen Ministry, at Holy Spirit Parish to do exactly
that! The specially selected and trained men and women have answered the call to serve those who are struggling to get through life issues. Through gentle guidance
and care-filled listening, Stephen Ministers maintain
confidentiality and remain non-judgmental. Consider
calling the Stephen Ministry, 739-0230, ext. 130, and
leave a confidential message. Perhaps you will find that
you have 'caught God's ear' through a caring Stephen
Minister.
