Accessible Bus Service
All CTA buses are accessible to people with disabilities. CTA buses
“kneel” on any request, lowering the bus to curb height. All buses
also have ramps at the forward doors; anyone can ask for the ramp
to be deployed.
Other accessibility features include priority seats and wheelchair
securement areas. Automated voice announcements — both
interior and exterior — help make stop, route and other information
accessible to people who are blind or visually impaired. LED signage
on CTA’s buses enables people who are deaf or hearing impaired
access to this same information.
Accessible Rail Service
All CTA trains provide space for wheelchairs and have a designated
wheelchair securement area. All CTA railcars have Braille signage,
priority seats, and both interior and exterior stop and route recorded
voice announcements.

“Gap fillers” are available at all stations to bridge the space between
platform and train. If you need a gap filler to get on a train, ask the
Customer Assistant or train operator for assistance.

Accessible stations have elevators and/or ramps to help customers
reach platforms. Elevator status is updated hourly. For information on

Bike & Ride
Bicycles can be carried on CTA trains and on bus bicycle racks.
Bicycles are permitted on trains weekdays (except from 7am to
9am and 4pm to 6pm), and all day on Saturdays, Sundays
and holidays (except July 4th). Over 90 stations have indoor or
sheltered bicycle parking.
Limit two bicycles per train car or bus. Restrictions apply to
customers under age 14. Bike & Ride brochures are available at
CTA rail stations, or by calling 312-836-7000. You can also visit
CTA’s website at transitchicago.com/bikeandride.
• call 1-888-YOUR-CTA (1-888-968-7282), wait for prompts,
then press 7.
• call 1-888-CTA-TTY1 (1-888-282-8891) (for hearing impaired).
• go to “Elevator Alerts” page on transitchicago.com.
Priority Seating
Priority seating is for customers with disabilities and seniors. Please
move from a priority seat when requested. Please allow customers
with disabilities to board CTA buses and trains first.
Customers who use wheelchairs or scooters have top priority to the
flip-seat wheelchair securement areas on CTA buses and trains.
Customers with other disabilities and seniors have top priority to the
fixed priority seats on all of our vehicles. All other customers may sit
in these seats unless they are needed by customers with disabilities
or seniors.
First Bus / Last Bus Times
All CTA and Pace buses are accessible to people with disabilities.
Use this chart to determine days, hours of service, where each
route begins and ends, and first and last buses in each direction
on each route.
CTA’s Bus Tracker website (ctabustracker.com) is your source
to check the location and estimated arrival times of your bus via
computer or web-enabled mobile device. See Bus and Train Tracker
panel below and left for more information.

Chicago street numbers start at State and
Madison downtown. State Street
divides east and west addresses, and Madison
Street divides north and south addresses.
Suburban street numbers vary; not all use
Chicago’s system. One mile is equal to 800
street numbers. Example: Montrose (4400 N)
is one mile north of Addison (3600 N).
