Bro. Greg McFadden
From the Pastor
Dr. Greg McFadden
Welcome to First Baptist
Church! This is the time
of year where many are
in transition. Some of
you have packed your
student’s car, prayed
over them, and sent
them back to campus
after a summer at
home. Others have done the same only their
students have moved to our area and will be
attending church with us! School is back in
full swing for our children and youth ministries,
teachers are back at work and the summer is
coming to a close. Psychologists have decided
that summer is the most stressful season of
the year and now it is past, so relax and enjoy
the fall!

Dear Church Family,
We want to express our gratitude to you for attending
the reception in honor of our wedding anniversary. We
also thank you for your cards and gifts. Our church
family means so much to us. We were blessed to have
our children honor us in this special way and for them
to have given you the opportunity to create even more
beautiful memories for us to treasure as we live even more
years together.

Come Together Sunday night to learn and celebrate what God is doing around the world with
our church plants and where God may use our church in the future to encourage laborers and
make disciples.
Sympathy:
Christian sympathy is expressed to Larry Westbrook and
family in the loss of his mother, Mogie Westbrook.
Today I will preach the third message from
Psalm 23, remembering that we are blessed
as followers of Christ because our shepherd
is Good, Great, and Chief! If you missed one
of the first two messages, I encourage you to
go to the website (www.fbchumboldt.org) and
listen to get caught up. God has a word for
you there!

Worship Leader: No Other Name
September 19-20
We will joyfully celebrate your public surrender to Jesus Christ at the conclusion of our worship service and
receive you into our family membership! There are four ways in which you may join:
1. Profession of faith and baptism. If you have received Christ privately, your coming forward this morning
begins your public testimony of faith. If the Holy Spirit has convicted you in this service you may come and
a minister will help you know how to receive Christ and His free gift of salvation.
2. Transfer of letter. If you are currently a member of a church family directly affiliated with our Southern
Baptist Convention you may simply come forward to let one of our ministers know of your intent to join
here.
3. Statement of Faith. If you know that you have prayed to receive Christ as your Savior and you have been
immersed as an act of baptism in a Christian church other than Southern Baptist, you may come forward
and join by simply sharing your story with one of our ministers.
4. By watchcare. If you are a Christian of like faith and a temporary resident in the area, and you desire
to affiliate with this Church without severing connections from your home church, we can accept you as a
member in watchcare.
