TASTING NOTE
A fresh and
youthful wine
featuring
strawberry and
raspberry fruit
aromas with just
a hint of oak. The
flavors are soft and
flavorful with an
appealing tang on
the finish. This
wine reminds us of
old time Zinfandel
where the fruit
is prominent and
the wine very
honest with great
drinkability. This
wine is not serious
or complicated,
and with none of
the heavy influence
of oak or
overzealous
cellaring, it is a
great sipping wine.
This wine has a
nose of exotic
spices and dried
fruits. This classic
old vine character
also exhibits notes
of lavender. On
the palate, full in
body and very
ripe, the dark fruit
on the first taste
melds into mildly
spicy fruit with a
hint of roasted
coffee towards
the end. Overall,
this dusty and
bold wine offers
ample flavor.
A beautiful
medium garnet
color, this wine has
a very complex
and alluring nose
full of dark fruit,
tobacco, toffee
and a trace of pine
resin. Fruity flavors
intertwine with
dark chocolate
and are
complemented by
dusty tannins,
giving this wine
great body. This
classic high e
levation Zinfandel
ends with a long
finish and a hint of
sweetness.
In the glass, this
2010 Dry Creek
Valley Reserve
Zinfandel gives off
initial hints of
cherry pie and
freshly-cut peaches
over a base of
granitic soils and
sun-baked earth.
On the palate, it
has definite notes
of mature red fruits
and a velvety body
backed by heat
and spices. As it
progresses, flavors
of ripe Loganberry
seep through the
milder French and
American oak in
the mid-palate.
This wine takes a
rather brambly
turn at the end,
and finishes with
impressions of dark
chocolate and
chalky, satisfying
tannins.
Timberline is a
powerhouse
Zinfandel, bold
and explosive.
The fruit comes
from Karen’s
Vineyard off Bell
Road. Planted in
1998, the headtrained vines
surround a creek
facing southwest
and are shielded
from the east by
a 1,800 foot high
hill. The healthy
vines produce
extremely
concentrated fruit,
