Staff Recommendation
We recommend that we purchase four (4) Dodge Chargers from Griffin Chrysler for
$96,368.00. We also recommend the purchase of the 5 year/75K extended warranty for
an additional $7,020.00. ($1,755.00 per unit) bringing the total price to $103,388.00.
Notes:
AWD=all wheel drive
FWD=front wheel drive
3.5L= 3.5 liter engine displacement
V6=6 cylinder engine
I did a lot of research before making the decision to purchase the Dodge Charger. I had
hoped to be able to purchase Chevrolet’s Tahoe Police Utility vehicle, but none were
available through our vendors until 2015.
There are not a lot of 2014 Ford Police Interceptors being used locally. I did find an
agency that had the Ford and the Charger, and this agency preferred the Charger over the
Ford. The Dodge Charger is the most popular police unit going right now.
The purchase of the extended warranty is contingent upon assurance from Dodge
Chrysler that adding the emergency equipment will not affect the warranty.
We will not accept delivery until 2014.
