SS14 _ The Home of American Sportswear The Home of American Sportswear _ Majestic Athletic has come a long way from it’s initial conception in 1976. What started life as a knitwear company producing baseball jerseys for local college teams in Tampa, has now become a multi- million dollar global brand, supplying customers all over the world. Many brands offer Varsity and American Retro fashion, but we do it with credibility and authenticity. We have earned the authentic Major League Baseball rights, and the addition of the National Football League and National Hockey League further enhance our brand. The SS14 collection is a combination of heritage and contemporary street-wear focusing on the best-known teams with the most commercial fabrication and styling. Our Official On-Field MLB Jersey range is unique, still handmade by the same factory in Tampa with the team that have grown up making Majestic sports wear. PAGE TWO Sports are continually evolving - changing rules, regulations and techniques. So too are the uniforms worn for these sports. In 1849 the first baseball team to wear a specified uniform, the New York Knickersbockers, matched pants made of blue wood with white flannel shirts and, would you believe, straw hats. Imagine if this had remained the standard headgear and the world had been deprived of the baseball cap! The other important change is that, while once it was only the players themselves who wore the uniform and colours of their team, gradually it became the norm for fans to deck themselves out in similar fashion. Whether for players or fans, sportswear needs to be functional, made to last and stylish. Most importantly of all, it needs to be authentic, the real thing. Founded by the impressively named Faust Capobianco III in 1976, Majestic Athletic took these qualities as their starting point and was rewarded with long-standing licensing arrangements with Major League Baseball (‘If it happens in baseball, it happens in Majestic’), U.S. college teams, the National Football League and, since 2010, with the National Hockey League. In the 1990s the licensed sports apparel business was exploding as musicians, movie stars and other celebs began sporting quality sportswear as fashion and leisurewear. Riding this wave was a piece of cake for Majestic Athletic with the young and eager Faust Capobianco IV now at the helm. Made in the USA (at Easton, Pennsylvania), Majestic Athletic’s sportswear bears that distinctive look of American sports - bold, bright, vibrant and tough. Just as enthusiasm for American sports is spreading around the globe, so too the distinctive, authentic sportswear which Majestic has been producing for an American market since 1976. Not only but especially that iconic piece of Americana, the varsity jacket, has become a must-have garment for fashionistas in Europe, the UK, South America and even Asia. Faust Capobianco IV and his dedicated team at Majestic are not about to take their eye off the ball and swap the playing field for the catwalk.
