Steady progress being made in renovation.
Work continues in the renovation of
42,000 sq. ft. of Mellwood’s lower level
ahead of a March 2014 launch of the
Mellwood Antiques & Interiors Mall.
The dealers relocating their booths were
previously at the Goss Avenue Antique
Mall, a business that regularly saw over
500 visitors visit per day. Stay tuned for

2014 SEPTEMBER ART FAIR POSTER CONTEST
It’s that time of year! The 6th Annual September Art Fair is ramping up again and we’re giving a talented artist and/or designer
the opportunity to craft an identity for this year’s fair. The prize
is $500 cash. Entry deadline is March 31, 2014. You can submit
your entries by [snail] mail or in person at our Rental Office,
located at 1860 Mellwood Avenue Louisville, KY 40206. If you

KING OF EXPRESSIONISM
Michael King takes Mellwood (and world) by storm.
If you haven’t seen him around Mellwood
or met him in person, you’ve probably seen
Michael King’s work displayed either in
the Pigment Gallery, the Gallery M, or The
Kore Gallery. While he’s only been painting
devoutly for the past four years, he’s made
quite a splash not just at Mellwood, but
Louisville and abroad.
Since he was young, Michael has always enjoyed creating abstract art and dreamed of
making a career of it. However, after finding himself in New York City with a family
at a young age, he postponed those dreams
to pursue a more accessible career: graphic
design. After gladly moving on from the
dog-eat-dog days of design, Michael set
out to settle unfinished creative business:
painting. It’s with this pigment of joy that
he equips his palette and sets out to impart
the same optimistic vibes to spectators.
As of this writing, many new fans have made
this desired connection. In the months to
come, Michael will be keeping busy creating more pieces to place around Mellwood
in addition to churning out a growing list
of commissions. The world waits in eager
anticipation!

Michael Morrison is the mind behind Mended Wings,
who will be creating works of blown glass on the Painting
Floor.
Two Friends with a Lens (#271)
DJ Henderson and Natasha Counsil-Epperson bring their
combined photographic skills in family/wedding photography and videography to the Sculpting Floor in Building
B.
Caffy Whitney (#129-131)
Caffy, who previously shared space with That Art Place
(#181A-Back), is branching out into her own space to continue her Fine Art painting and illustrating.
