All approved controlled items must be individually affixed with
the SIRIM label on the product.
The Energy Commission expressly disclaims all liability to any
person in respect of any statement in or omission from this
booklet to the extent permitted by the law and nothing
contained in this booklet should taken as constituting any
amendment to the Electricity Supply Act 1990 [Act 447] and the
Electricity Regulations 1994. In the event of any conflict, Act
447 or the Regulations shall at all times take precedence.
This booklet should not therefore be regarded as a substitute for
familiarising yourself with Act 447 or the Regulations, or where
necessary, obtaining specific advice on your individual position.

The electrical equipments as illustrated below which are for
purposes of manufacture, import, exhibition, sale or
advertisement and falling under the following categories:
(a)
(b)
c)
any domestic equipment;
any equipment which is usually sold direct
to the general public; or
any equipment which does not require special skill
in its operation
must be approved by the Energy Commission and labelled
pursuant to the Electricity Regulations 1994.
However, the illustrations are for ease of reference only as to
the description of the electrical equipments requiring such
approval and labelling and are therefore non-exhaustive. Any
other electrical equipment not illustrated herein but which are
for the said purposes and falling under the said categories must
also be approved and labelled in accordance with the said
Electricity Regulations 1994.
The applicable safety and performance standards for electrical
equipments can be obtained from the Energy Commission.
