Global Exploration
Summer Course
Dear Wai’alae parents and students, Aloha, my name is Terrence Tenjoma. I am currently a 4th grade student teacher at Wai’alae Public Charter School, and I will be teaching an exciting and engaging summer course on various cultures from around the world. I am graduating and will be licensed to teach kindergarten through 6th grade by May 14 of this year. Diversity and difference are two things that I am very passionate about, which is why I am very excited to teach about the diversity in foods, lifestyles, arts, languages, and traditions! Each week, students will be exploring a different continent (Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia/Pacific Islands, and Europe). Students will also have the opportunity to be a chef, creating a dish relating to one of the cultures that they will have learned in the week. To start off each day, we will be keeping up with current events from around the globe. Throughout the summer, each student will also be putting together their own travel booklet that tells about each place they have visited! Thank you! Terrence Tenjoma If you have any questions, please contact me via cell phone or email. Contact Information: Cell: (808) 4297273 Email:
