Time to reboot! In digital world we live in we
often have to reboot our personal devices.
When your phone locks up the first thing a
technician ask is, “did you reboot it?” If your
computer malfunctions, freezes or does
something unusual we are often encouraged
to reboot it.
pounds they gained because life just got
busy. Every day, people just like you and I
are strengthening their marriages, brushing
up on their computer skills, deepening their
relationship with God, learning a musical
instrument, providing quality afterschool
care for their children, swimming and the list
keeps growing.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just reboot
your lives at times? When you’ve gained a
few more pound than you are comfortable
with or your marriage is on the verge of
collapse. Your teen is acting out or your
household budget is in disarray. Wouldn’t
it be nice if you could just reboot and you
could start over? I believe you can, and it
starts at the Kroc Center.
Assistant Corps Officer
The Salvation Army of Solano County
The people using the Kroc Center are just
like you and I. They needed a fresh start and
they found a place where their entire family
could discover a new vision for themselves.
Whether you’re looking reboot, upgrade or
simply try something new, I hope you will join
us in 2016!
May God Richly Bless You!
For me, that’s what the Kroc Center has
become. A place for new beginnings,
fresh starts, a place to breathe, reboot and
start over. It will take effort on your part.
Unlike just holding down the power button
for a few minutes it will take some effort
and commitment on your part but every
day people just like you are starting over,
rebooting as it were at the Kroc Center.
E very day people who have dealt with
many of the same challenges in life are
improving theirs by shedding those extra

LETTER
FROM THE
DIRECTOR
Welcome to The Salvation Army Suisun City
Kroc Center. A place for you, your family and
friend to come together to improve, learn,
grow and flourish. As you walk through the
doors of the facility, you will tell yourself
that there is something different about this
place. You will find that there is an infectious
atmosphere of genuine positive attitude and
concern for your well-being that surrounds
you. Our goal is for you to spread the
positive behavior to your family and friends
so we can all change our community for the
better.
You will be surprised to see that we are
MORE than just a gym. Our dedication to
your well-being encompasses more than
your physical body by offering fitness and
sports programs. We also offer educational,
enrichment, and music classes for your mind
and church services for your soul. We also
stand by you in your growth as a person by
offering volunteer opportunities to help and
serve your community.
The sheer number of programs we offer
can be overwhelming, so I encourage you
to stop by the facility and take a tour to see
how we can help you grow and transform in
Body, Mind and Soul.
Once again, welcome! We are blessed to be
part of your journey.

KROC WORSHIP VISION
To be an outward focused community
of believers. Deeply rooted in the
Word of God Committed to serving,

WORSHIP SERVICE
SUNDAY AT 11:00 AM
The Salvation Army Kroc Worship invites
you to join the family. We are vibrant, our
welcome is warm and our teaching reflects
those of Christ. Allow us to greet you
with a smile this Sunday at 11:00 am with
classes for the whole family at 10:00 am
teaching Biblical principles and foundational
understanding.
Over the last three years, thousands of people have discovered the
Kroc Center and are now utilizing every part of it. From the gym to
the swimming pool; rock climbing to our educational and enrichment
programs, there is presence in all four corners of our center! Along
with these programs is our Kroc Worship – a church where family of
believers recognize the importance of having a personal relationship
with Christ, and aim to deepen their understanding of who He is as
their personal Lord and Savior.
Captains Jonathan and Vickie Harvey & Lt. Tersy Matto would like
to personally invite you to join us for Worship at the Kroc on Sunday
mornings at 10 AM. Our worship style is contemporary and the
teaching is solidly grounded in scripture. With activities for every age
group and child watch provided during services, Worship at the Kroc
Center is family friendly, warm and extremely welcoming. But don’t
just take our word for it, visit us any Sunday and see for yourself. We’ll
be waiting at the door to greet you!
At the Kroc Center, intentional living starts
with making a decision to get more engaged.
NEW FOR 2016!
Kroc Kids Club
Therefore, we have developed a number of elements that help
families mature and grow spiritually through weekly character
development programs. These programs are broken up into age
appropriate groups with impassioned leaders who love God and the
people they guide. Our objective is to meet people where they are
spiritually and provide opportunities for growth in every aspect of
life. In addition to the physical wellness programs offered at the Kroc
Center, the Kroc focuses on spiritual wellness.
Vibrant, upbeat and exciting time for children to learn some of the
greatest Biblical stories. They will develop a foundation with Christ
though music, crafts and interactive activities.
New Beginnings
An adult Bible class which focuses on those who are in recovery from
addiction and searching for a new way with Christ.
Firm Foundations
Understanding Scripture from Genesis to Christ is important for
new believers and those who have accepted Christ but have never
truly implemented scripture in their life. The Firm Foundations class
develops a understanding of scripture, it’s history and chronology.

OPPORTUNITIES
FOR SERVICE
Giving hope to a family in need can impact lives in immeasurable ways. We have heard
countless times from people who are now working and back on their feet, or have recovered
from an addiction or a major crisis in their lives, of how The Salvation Army provided hope for a
better tomorrow at a time when they needed it the most.
We can’t however do it alone. In fact we can’t do it at all without the generosity of people
like you. You can Give Hope year round, and especially during the holiday season by being
generous with your time, talents, and treasures. Giving Hope can be as simple as:
Give Your Time
Be a volunteer. Opportunities for volunteerism include packing food bags for families in need,
painting and general maintenance of our facilities, teaching classes at the Kroc Center and
assisting in the various activities that take place every day. Individual volunteers are always
needed. Groups of people can have an even greater impact. When Bible study groups,
service clubs, churches, neighborhoods, businesses and even families all come together, we
are able to provide even more hope to people in need. Give Your Talent
Are you a great organizer, teacher, leader or have a particular talent that could be used to
provide to people in need? We need individuals to organize food drives, teach classes, plan
fundraisers and join our team of advisors.
Give Your Treasure
Financial gifts of all sizes make a difference. Your financial gift can put food on the table of a
hungry senior, a roof over the head of a homeless mom and her children, or gas in the car of
a veteran who needs to attend a doctor’s appointment. Your gift of whatever amount enables
The Salvation Army to meet immediate needs as they arise.
Giving Hope is really very simple and starts with your willingness to do so. Together we can
transform lives forever. Will you Give Hope?

Performing Arts empowers and educates the next generation of artists and musicians. The

traditional mediums of brass instruments, voices, or through more contemporary forms of
musical expression like ukulele or bucket drumming, we emphasize discipline, training, focus,
and confidence. We are working to continue the quality programming that has become the
hallmark of the Kroc Center and to add more exciting opportunities. Through the teaching of
the performing arts, we hope to nurture and grow the artists and teachers of the future.

• No food or drink is permitted in the rock
wall area (other than water).
• Belay certification is required.
Belay Certification
Belaying is the act of properly using the
climbing rope to safeguard a climber. In
the event of a fall, the belayer locks off
the rope to stop the fall. Belaying is a big
responsibility. If you take on the task you
should be competent and alert. You should
know the proper safety checks and belay
signals.
See Rock Wall Attendant
or Fitness Manager.
Top Roping
Top roping is a climbing style in which a
rope, used for the climber’s safety, runs
from the climber’s partner. Partners, known
as a “belayer,” must be Belay Certified and
positioned at the foot of a route through one
or more carabiners connected to an anchor
system at the top of the route and back
down to the climber.
Ages: 4 & Up
Bouldering
Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that is
performed safely without the use of ropes
or harnesses. It serves to build stamina,
technique, and increase finger strength.
While it can be done without any equipment
whatsoever, most climbers use climbing
shoes to help secure footholds, chalk to
keep their hands dry, and bouldering crash
pads to prevent injuries from falls.
The sport originated as a method of training
for roped climbs and mountaineering.
Bouldering enables climbers to practice at a
safe distance from the ground. At the Kroc,
our bouldering height is 11 feet at head level,
and boulderers position crash pads near the
climbing wall to provide a softer landing, as
well as one or more spotters to help redirect
the climber towards the pads.
Age: 18 & Up

not engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any
cause. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting
through its own voluntary contributions.

comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and
