This bulletin supersedes TSB 09-BE-018. In this bulletin, there is a TSB group
change from Body Electrical System (BE) to Restraints System (RT).
DESCRIPTION:
If the Supplemental Restraint System Control Module (SRSCM) in the Genesis Coupe
is replaced during service or accident repair, the unit must be programmed using the
Hyundai Global Diagnostic System (GDS) before the vehicle is released to the
customer. This bulletin outlines the procedures required to program the SRSCM using
the GDS. Two procedures are provided:
• Pages 2 - 5 describe the programming procedure to use when the GDS is
connected to the Internet.
• Pages 6 - 11 describe the programming procedure to use when the GDS is not
connected to the Internet (Manual Coding). It will be necessary to access the
hmaservice.com web site to retrieve the 4 digit “ACU Coding code” for this
procedure.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
Model: All Genesis Coupe (BK)
NOTE: The GDS menus refer to the SRSCM programming process as “ACU
Variant Coding,” where ACU is an acronym for Airbag Control Unit.
SRSCM and ACU both refer to the Supplemental Restraint System
Control Module.
NOTE: GDS Update Version 1.601 must be installed prior to performing the
programming procedure. Previous versions do not support ACU Variant
Coding.
