Cronopios Idiomas is a school recently formed
in Madrid that, from its very beginning, makes
the difference in terms of didactical quality,
personalised assistance to our students and
social commitment to the community. Our
school is a cooperative, owned and run by
the teachers. We work as a united team with a
mutual passion and a commitment to our students learning. At Cronopios Idiomas we are
driven to work together with our local communities, other businesses and institutions,
contributing to making our social environment
better. We promote and take part in social projects continually growing and developing collaborations.
Our courses combine the communicative and task-based approaches in a
motivating and effective way. At Cronopios Idiomas, we don’t teach just the language but also the Hispanic culture, so that
our students can feel at ease in Spanish

speaking countries. We are teachers with years
of experience, extensive training, vocation and
we enjoy teaching and learning with our students. We adapt content and method to meet
the needs and ways of learning of every student to optimize their stay and experience, so
as to reinforce a positive attitude towards the
Spanish language.
Our focus and top priority is to interact as
much as possible with all our students providing quality and value throughout their stay.
We participate in activities both inside and
outside the school with our students and
share their learning and cultural experiences
in Madrid. We’re always available to support
and assist our students with anything they
may require. From our beginning, the feedback
from our students has been very positive. We’d

OUR SCHOOL
Cronopios Idiomas is located in the heart of
Madrid, in one of the most fashionable areas in
town and very close to Gran Vía and Malasaña;
birthplace of “la Movida Madrileña”, where it
all happens.
From their first day one of our friendly team
will be there to welcome students, answer any
questions, offer assistance and calm any of
those first day nerves.
Our school has six comfortable classrooms full
of natural light, creating a very pleasant atmosphere for the lessons. The spacious common
area is open from 09:30hrs until 20:30hrs and
is equipped with a self service area with light
snacks, hot and cold drinks, a specialised library
and full internet access. The area is a great place
for studying, relaxing and socialising with other
students. It has dedicated space where students
can receive and share information.
For new arrivals we offer a light welcome
breakfast giving them the opportunity to get to
know fellow students, teachers and to familiarise themselves with the school.
Methodology
In Cronopios Idiomas we want students to be
a part of the learning process, that’s why we’ve
chosen the communicative approach. Using
this approach, students and teachers work
together to decide what they want to learn and
how they want to learn it. Classes are organised in small groups of up to eight students per
class. We at Cronopios Idiomas pay great attention to our students individual interests, goals
and style of learning and in doing so, create a
relaxing and fun atmosphere in the classroom.
This enables our students to achieve effective
communication in Spanish and in a learning
environment whereby they feel relaxed and
confident. Furthermore, the Spanish language
and Hispanic culture are integrated in all of our
courses in order to promote the use of Spanish
language in a real context.
We follow the Instituto Cervantes Syllabus, and
the CEFR levels.

Our intensive courses are
perfect for students who
want to learn Spanish in a
fast and active way, offering full immersion. They give
the possibility of reaching an
advanced level in three and
a half months. They begin
every week, and offer full
immersion with 3 hour lessons plus 1 hour of communicative workshop each day.
If students feel they have special requirements and want
to complement their learning with a more personalised
approach, they should choose
this option. Every day, the last
hour of their course consists
of a tailor made one-to-one
lesson where they can practice and learn exactly what
they need.
For those who definitively
want to dive into the Spanish
language, we offer this special
course, which includes 3
hours of general Spanish,
plus 1 hour of communicative
workshop plus 1 hour of oneto-one lessons.

DELE Preparation
Course
The DELE Diplomas are internationally recognised, by
Instituto Cervantes. They are
ideal for career progression
and access to education, both
in Spain and in other countries
where the DELE examinations
are given and take place three
times a year: in May, August
and November.
Our course offers the students
the tools to face the exam
with confidence. The course
is taught by accredited DELE
teachers who have a deep
knowledge of the exam. It
takes place twice a week, with
a total of four lessons/week.

Our courses are part of an integrated programme, which assists our students with their
linguistic immersion in Madrid. We offer our
students a whole complementary programme
of social and cultural activities every week.
These activities change from time to time and

our students with a deeper knowledge of the
neighborhood, the city and the Spanish culture.

A weekly activity, where an historian specialised in the history of Madrid lets our students
discover new areas and charming spots in the
city, along with myths and legends related to
these places.
Let’s Dance!
Rumba Flamenca
An introductory lesson to this fun Spanish
dance with our specialist instructor. A great
way to learn Spanish whilst practicing those
Spanish dance moves!
Cineforum
We watch a Spanish or Latinoamerican movies or short films about a topic, we then discuss
that topic afterwards along with some didactical
activities, we exchange points of view and learn
more about the Hispanic culture and habits.
Eat Madrid!
Gastronomic Activity
In collaboration with cooking experts, students
cook a special dinner, try the famous tapas or
participate in wine tasting. The perfect plan to
meet new people and enjoy the evening.
Flamenco Show
The best way to discover and get to know one
of our prettiest folk musics, the flamenco and
its different forms from the pure original dancing to the fusion music.

ACCOMMODATION
Whether our students are staying for just a
week in Madrid or planning a long term stay,
Cronopios Idiomas can help them to find
accommodation that best fits their needs and
requirements at very convenient prices.
Staying in a residence, sharing a flat or living with a family are the options on offer. We
recommend staying with a host family; staying together with a Spanish family provides
students with total immersion into the culture
and habits of Madrid as well as having close
contact with the language. The accommodation service Cronopios Idiomas offers is a notfor-profit service which forms part of our social
initiative programme. Being part of our accommodation network, our students are being

involved in our local social initiative project.
Families who belong to our network are carefully chosen by us and commit to giving the
best treatment to our students and promote
their linguistic immersion so as to enhance
their experience and stay in Madrid.
Students can choose among bed & breakfast,
half board or full board. A week goes from Sunday to Saturday. If the student decides they
would like to arrive earlier or leave later than
the original dates agreed, the school must be
informed in advance. In this case the extra
nights stay shall be paid.
SOCIAL INITIATIVE
Cronopios is a cooperative. We believe in social
economy and in the cooperation with other
organisations. Therefore, we are developing
several social initiative projects in the school
and local community.
Scholarships for students
with low incomes
Cronopios promotes free courses for people
who may need support with the cost of tuition.
The spread of this grant is conducted through
social centers and associations, such as Red
Cross. When a student enrols in a course with
our school, s/he is participating in our linguistic integration project.
Free exhibition space for
artists and creators
Cronopios Idiomas offers exhibition space,
subject to availability, as a help for local artists
and creators.
Free space for other cooperatives
Accommodation network
Nowadays in Madrid the number of people with
a lower family income is increasing. Therefore,
Cronopios Idiomas has developed an accommodation network that will focus on these
families, supporting them to increase the family income. This is achieved by linking them
with students studying at Cronopios and living
temporarily in their homes, which will contribute to their household sustainability.
Exchange services and
community currency
At Cronopios Idiomas we use and promote
other exchange options. We are part of the
Social Economical Market of Madrid and we
use the local community currency, called Boniato (www.konsumoresponsable.coop). We collaborate with a growing group of people who
work in exchange of other services.
Social economy networks
As a part of cooperativism spirit, we give some
free space in our school to other cooperatives, to
do training courses, meetings and other activities.

OUR TEAM
Cronopios Idiomas is a school specialised in
the teaching of Spanish. We are formed from a
group of teachers who want to work together
to create a different language school, one managed by them. In our self-managed school our
teachers work together to meet the common
needs and aspirations of a social economy
project that focuses on the quality of teaching and personal attention for students. That’s
why we chose to be a cooperative. Our academic team are experienced and highly motivated teachers with specialized training and are
continually updating our knowledge and skills
in teaching Spanish as a Second Language.

If you require a general student visa, please ensure you understand and
meet the necessary requirements; you will need to visit the Spanish
Embassy in your country. For further information regarding visa requirements please see www.maec.es. From the school, we’ll do our best to
help you in this issue.
Image rights
When registering, students agree to allow Cronopios Idiomas to take
photos, videos and/or any other images during class and/or activities for
school use. The rejection of this permit must be communicated in advance.
Students will be asked to complete a form at the time of enrollment.
Course timetable and holidays
Our prices
Start Dates
You can find our current course and accommodation prices on our website at www.cronopiosidiomas.com or on our price list. You must inform
us at the time of booking, if you require accommodation and/or airport
transfers. All our courses have an additional registration fee, which
includes all course materials and booking administration. The requirement of accommodation has an accommodation fee.
General Spanish courses start every Monday (except for national/public holidays). All other courses have specific start dates. Please contact
us for further information. Students who require a visa, please allow
enough time to apply for your visa application. Two weeks’ notice of visa
confirmation is generally required.
How to pay
There will be no classes during public, national and/or local holidays.
Please note classes missed due to these holidays will not be refunded
and Cronopios Idiomas reserves the right to offer alternative arrangements for those classes missed.
Please make payment in EURO only. Enrollment documents will only be issued once payment has been received.
Payments may be made by:

2. Major Credit Cards: payment is due on or before the commencement date of your particular course. Cronopios Idiomas is not able to give
extended credit to agents unless a special arrangement has been agreed in
writing in advance. Fees are non-refundable except under very exceptional
circumstances and then only at the discretion of Cronopios Idiomas.
3. Cash: at our school.
Cancellation policy
No charge for cancellation 3 weeks prior to arrival. 50% of the total
fees for cancellation 2 weeks prior arrival. Fees cannot be refunded
for courses or parts of courses missed due to late arrival, illness, early
departure and/or other circumstances that do not form part of the can-
Holidays
Long-term students (from 12 weeks’ course) wishing to interrupt their
course for holiday purposes should inform the school at least 15 days
prior to the interruption period and is subject to school approval.
Class Level Tests
Students will be required to conduct a level test. Any change in a students
level and/or timetable is subject to approval by Cronopios Idiomas and
availability of courses. Level tests can be taken on the day of arrival or
prior to the course start date at the school and/or electronically. One of
our teachers will be available to discuss and assess the level tests with
students.
Timetable
Students will be provided with the course timetable one week prior of
the course start date. Please note however, in the occurrence of unforeseen circumstances, Cronopios Idiomas reserves the right to change
timetables and/or postpone classes.
Accommodation
Please read our accommodation guidelines before booking. Accommodation is only confirmed after visa confirmation.
