website for information. We are planning a Fall meeting toward the end of
October. When the plans are finalized we will send out the
date and time. Currently we are trying to have it at the
same location as the last meeting, Funk's Family
Restaurant. We need someone to volunteer to take calls.

The officers will be up for election this Fall. We have a number of
nominations from current officers who are going to be running for the same seats
that they now hold. If anyone is interested in running for a post, please contact
Ken or myself to let us know. The offices are for a two year term that runs from
January 2012 through 2013. The elections will be held in the Fall and the results
will be announced at the Fall meeting. !
Your input, participation and assistance will help to make all of the events
and club activities better. Whenever you see other Oldsmobiles at other shows
ask the owners if they are interested in attending any of our shows. They may not
be aware of Oldsmobile shows in the area. Bob Seaman SAD NEWS

A BIT OF
!
On Wednesday morning July 6, a devastating fire struck the Maryland home of longtime OCA
and Blue/Gray members Ron and Julie Siegrist. Ron and Julie got out safely but 6 of their classic
cars were a total loss. The Baltimore Sun reported an estimated value of $300,000 just in the
vehicles.
The garage was destroyed and the living section of their house suffered extensive smoke damage.

Our prayers are with Ron and Julie in this time of trouble and loss. They have been good
friends to all of us who know them in the Blue/Gray Chapter.
!
If you know of anything the chapter can do for them, let us know.
Election of Officers
ARTICLE 5 -- ELECTED CHAPTER OFFICIALS (Blue/Gray Chapter by-laws adopted 2008)
5.1 ! The Officers shall be President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Chapter
Representative to The Oldsmobile Club of America in descending order of rank. These five Officers
shall constitute the Chapter Executive Committee.
5.2 ! Two Members-at-Large.
5.3 ! Officials shall be elected at two year intervals according to Article 9 herein.

9.1 ! Only Active and Associate members (dues paid) shall vote or run for an elected position.
9.2 ! Nominations for elected officials may be by written or oral statement, with the consent of the
nominee.
We will be holding a meeting at the B/G summer picnic. Nominations will be accepted during the

EVENT REPORT
The combined efforts of the Blue/Gray and Delaware
Valley Olds Club Chapters and Carlisle Productions
to increase attendance seems to be paying off. The
Carlisle staff had to scramble to make room for
Oldsmobile parking. We had 45 cars in attendance
with many outstanding examples. Awards were
presented by the hosting chapters as well as Carlisle
productions. We even had a fully equipped Ghost
Buster wagon keeping spectators entertained all
weekend ! You might see it when you come to our
Fall Show . 48 states and about 800 cars were
represented at The GM Nationals this year and our
show field had two cars from North Carolina. They
traveled to Pa just to attend the show and both went
home with awards.
The Oldsmobile participants boasted many Celebrity picks, even Bill Jenkens, the
famed Chevy drag racer chose an Olds ! And speaking of paying off, Carlisleʼs first
time, $1000.00, overall Best Of Show winner was a 1969 H/O !!

profile weekend for

mark your calendar for GM

Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie will soon be
upon us on August 7 and our Summer Picnic is
at a new location this year at Union Canal Tunnel
Park in Lebanon on Sunday August 21. In
September our Olds Annual Fall Show will be
held at Texas Roadhouse on September 25.
Hope to see many of you at these events. Happy
Motoring.
