Understanding Careers
The exploration of potentially satisfying occupations within a particular Program of Study will give each student a better
understanding of several career options. High school courses and college opportunities guide both parents and students
as they consider particular career paths.
Each is designed to meet requirements for graduation, prepare students for post-secondary education, and to enter the
workforce. This sequence of courses leading to employment in an occupation field and/or further education is referred to
as a career pathway.
A more detailed look at the 81 career pathways as aligned to the 16 career clusters has been identified by the Florida
Department of Education and can be found at their website: http://www.fldoe.org/workforce/
