awaharlal Nehru Engineering College is a premier institute of engineering that has
carved a niche for itself in the field of technical education in a very short span of time.
The college has made its presence felt in the world of technical education.Unique in its
structure, methods and goals, the college is strongly rooted in the philosophy of training
and research that emphasizes the relationship between knowledge and its application
and seeks to promote the creation of an ideal society. The college also provides facilities
for research leading to Ph.D in selected six subjects through its Research Center. JNEC
provides a congenial atmosphere for diligent academic pursuits. This has been reflected
through the results. Most of our students are among the toppers in various Engineering
disciplines. The college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada Univer-
sity, which confers the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Master of Engineering
(M.E.), in various disciplines and Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) as well as M.Arch.,
Master of Computer application & MET. JNEC is the first college in Marathwada to have
been accredited by NBA and Council of Architecture.
The foundation stone of existing JNEC building was laid by

the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Nov. 14th, 1985.

Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College was established
in 1983 under the aegis of Mahatma Gandhi Mission
trust led by Chairman Shri Kamalkishore Kadam, who
is an IIT Engineer from Mumbai. He had also been the
Education Minister & Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra
Legislative Council.
The foundation stone of the existing JNEC building was
laid by Hon. Shri Sharad Pawar, the then Chief Minister
of Maharashtra on Nov. 14, 1985.
JNEC Environment
JNEC imparts education through healthy and indiscriminatory teaching practices. The institute aims at inculcating humanitarian values among students.
JNEC has lush green campus complemented with contemporary infrastructure.
JNEC students are self disciplined and spend more time
in the reading room of the library, it has a sitting capacity of 600 which is always full during the peak period of
the semester and examination.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
As per Maharashtra Act no. XXVIII of 2015
DURATION OF COURSE
The duration of course in engineering is four years & five years in Architecture, starting from July/August of every Year
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for all Engineering courses
Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate.––
(i) The Candidate should be an Indian National;
(ii) Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one
of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least 50 % marks
(at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together;
Or
(ii) Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45 % marks, in case of
Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
Or
(ii) Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by UGC and obtained at least 50 % marks (at least
45 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra
State only);
(iii) Obtained score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority.
For Architecture, Passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as a subject and secured minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for backward class candidates from Maharashtra State only) in the HSC (Std XII) examination.
OR
Passed Diploma in under 10+3 diploma (any stream) Examination recognized by central/ state government or its
equivalent examination and secured minimum 50% aggregate marks. (45% for backward class candidates)
AND
Hold valid score at National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture for the
academic year (with minimum 40% valid score.)
Lateral entry eligibility in Engineering Disciplines
Criteria 10 + 3 Diploma ( any stream) recognised by Central or State Governments with 50% aggregate marks.
Assessment
The Students are assessed through class tests conducted by departments, work assigned to them in the form of

The aim of establishing the central computing infrastructure is to provide computing & internet facility
to the whole campus and to support students in their
project work, seminars & presentations. It is responsible for the campus Data maintenance, ERP record

DVDs and also Desktop Publishing.
Introduction
The Central Computer Centre is fully air conditioned
and distraction free. The Lab has 200 latest configuration computers with 19” LED TFT monitors and comfortable seating arrangement for students & staff. The

switches (L2 & L3) which are behind secured Firewall.
It has fully generator backup solution to avoid power
cuts & failure. The Lab is secured with 16 CCTV cameras located at various locations. Two projectors with

Aim of the Facilities
The sports facility is an integral part of educational activity. To keep students physically and mentally healthy.
MGM has established huge sports complex with indoor
and outdoor game facilities. The total area of sports complex is 97400 sq. m. out of which sports building area is
2151.61 sq. m. and area of courts is 18793.66 sq. M.

All the staff members are the members of sports club.
All the staff members of MGM institution can avail the
facilities in the sports complex without any charge.
The members can avail the facility and can only bear the
expenses of consumables at their own cost or can bring

The Guest House of jnec campus has a capacity of 26 beds with 10 single

The canteen has all modern amenities with facilities for dining, snacks,
cold and hot drinks, coffee, tea, soup dispensers, microwave ovens and
deep freezers.
MEDICAL FACILITIES
All the Departments of the Institute are provided with First Aid boxes to
handle the minor problems of students and staff. A full fledged MGM
Hospital is accessible from the JNEC campus.
REPROGRAPHICS FACILITIES
The Library has a Xerox machine, which takes care of all reprographic
needs of the institute.
LANGUAGE LAB
JNEC has language lab for staff and Students to enhance language skills.
The software Installed in Lab can monitor the work of the students. The
purpose of the lab is to develop communication skills of the students.
INTERNET FACILITY
The internet facility for staff and the students is available in central computing Lab till late in the evening. CSE, IT,Arch & ECT Departments are
given Internet facility. Internet facility is available in Library for students.
ELECTRICITY AND POWER BACK-UP FACILITY
The Institute has a Generator as an Alternate Arrangement during power
failure.
STUDENT COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE CELL
A student counseling and guidance cell is started in Dec 2005. The main
objective of this cell is to solve academic as well as non-academic problems of the students.
TRANSPORTATION FACILITY
The Institute is located in the heart of the city hence no transportation
facility is needed, however the available vehicles in MGM Trust are used
for Industrial visits, study tours etc.
PARKING
Separate parking area for four wheelers, two wheelers. The parking area
has separate sections for staff, boys and girls.
The parking area in the whole campus is 3212 Sqm. With the capacity of
1400 two wheelers and 160 four wheelers.

Proposed JNEC Corpus Fund: A noble initiative
started by JNEC alumni
JNEC alumnus and Managing Director of Jaypee
Power Ventures Ltd Mr. Suren Jain has taken
noble initiative to form JNEC Corpus Fund. He
and his better half Mrs. Anjali Jain (Who is also
a JNEC alumnus) leading from front announced
to contribute Rs. 25 lakhs to start this fund. This
is first of its kind initiative in this type of institution in the state. JNEC Corpus Fund will support needy students for their expenses with
defined guidelines. On behalf of MGM-JNEC
management former Principal and Trustee Mr.
Pratap Borade has announced that, “All formalities related to the proposed fund are almost
at the completion stage and the management
is pleased to announce substantial amount of
scholarships for all the four years to few deserving students as per the guidelines applicable of
the proposed fund from this year only. A committee of the Principal, faculty and alumni representatives will be authorized to take appropriate
decisions. ” JNEC Corpus Fund expected to take
shape in short period and will be a great support

Donations
Food, Cloths Donation: Navjeevan is a school for mentally retarded students. JNEC NSS Unit donated food grains, Cloths,
Refrigerator, Pressure cooker by organizing various donation
programs in JNEC campus.
Eye/Body Donation: ‘Eye Donation’ and ‘Body Donation’
were one of the innovative activities this year.
Blood donation: Nss Unit regularly organise blood donation camp in JNEC campus. In last year 550 student donated
blood in Campus.
Visits:
This year NSS Unit visited various places and organizations
like Lilian deaf school, Navjeevan school, Vidyadip Orphanage, Shivneri fort, Gogababa trek, in which we have organized various social activities such as cleanliness programs,
social awareness programs, Rkshabandhan at Navjeevan.

Achievement
One of our student Mr.Akshay Anant Kolte was invited to witness Republic Day Parade 2016 from
Prime Minister's Box at Rajpath, Delhi. 22 members (19 boys & 3 girls) of NSS unit have attended
the Dhadak Mohim at Melghat arranged by Maitri
organization. Under this, they went to the villages
of Melghat and took care of the children and people over there. They stayed there in different villages for 10 days. They got to know the problems
of the villagers and that locality. They also enjoyed
the nature and the rainy atmosphere of Melghat.

Camp at Cilati,Melghat
As per every year, in 2014-15 also NSS unit has
organized a residential camp of 7 days (24th Jan31st Jan) at Chilati,Melghat. Members of NSS
unit stayed at Chilati but worked in nearby 3 villages. They also spent some time with the villagers, learned their culture and enjoyed with them.

13. Dr S Y Guhe won a Travel Grant from University
Grants Commission (UGC) to attend International
conferences abroad. Dr Guhe is the only successful candidate from Engineering discipline who has
won this grant from UGC for the year 2015-16 and

Fee Structure
The Interim tuition fees for the academic year 2016-2017 is Rs.
89,500/- (Eighty-Nine Thousand and Five Hundred Only ) + 3000 deposit as per the norms of Shikshan Shulka Samiti. This year the fee
structure will be as per the declaration of the Shikshan Shulka Samiti.
Prevention of Ragging & Capitation Fee
A strict vigilance to prevent, incidences of ragging in the college. An
undertaking proforma is taken by every candidate as per norms of
AICTE. A committment towards no capitation fee is in practice.

Barrier free environment for physically challenged persons is observed in the premises by providing ramp, elevater facility.
Cigarette, Tobacco products and other narcotics (drugs)are prohibited in college premises and subsequently brought awareness
about the after effects. A strict action is liable.

the applicable law.
According to the norms & standards of AICTE/CA/PCI, adequate
