gas separation
is achieved
by reducing
the velocity

changing
the direction
of flow of the liquid over a weir.
The
gas and a small proportion
of the liquid is forced by pump
pressure
through
an orifice
to the float chamber
from which
the liquid returns
to the suction
side of the pump through
a
float-operated
valve.
The gas discharges
past another
float-operated
valve through
a pipe to the upper extremity
of
the hose nozzle holster
where it is vented to atmosphere
(see
Figure

3.
Meter
(Gilbarco

The meter
is sealed by a wire passing
through
a hole drilled
in a peg which fits through
one of the holes in the rim of the
calibrating
wheel and into one or other of two drilled
bosses
in one of the cylinder
covers,
thence backwards
through
each
of the adjacent
holes in the rim of the wheel and finally through
a hole drilled
through
the end of the calibTrating
wheel spindle.
