Dear Layton Triathletes,
The 7th Annual Layton Triathlon is held in Layton Utah at the Layton Surf N Swim. This race
course is a great one with flat terrain. Please be aware that the course has a lot of twists and
turns and it is important to know the course prior to racing. We will have it marked on race
day with signs, spray chalk arrows and volunteers however knowing the course will help you
anticipate the turns prior to hitting them. This is a great race for those trying to do their first
triathlon or those that want to compete seeing we get a great deal of racers from beginner to
very experienced.
Golds Gym is one of the prime sponsors for this race. Golds supports many of our races with
helping get the word out and also cool prizes from IFLY, IRock, and Flowrider to overall
winners. Their Layton location will be the host of packet pickup this Friday July 17 from 47PM at 18 N Fort Lane in Layton.
Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express in Layton are also providing support to guests as host
hotels. If you are needing a place to stay mention you are with the triathlon when you call in.
Volunteering is a method to get races for free. On Hill Events does an incredible volunteer
program with a $50 credit per race for those willing to help out. This credit can be used for
any future race up to 13 months from the date you volunteered. This way if someone
volunteers on one of our races they can race it the following year. If you have someone that
wants to volunteer for you, you can get this credit transferred to you, so do not waste those
that cheer you on. We can take some extra volunteers and they can register here:

This is going to be a fun year for the race and we hope your training is going well and that you
have an awesome time.
Thanks for Racing,
Joe Coles – Race Director On Hill Events

Transition Area, Spectator Area, Parking
The transition area is the reserved for participating athletes only.
This is located at the Layton Surf N Swim 465 N Wasatch Drive
Layton, Utah. This is also the best place to park for the race. We
also recommend that spectators view their athlete from here. On
the course it can be dangerous to cheer on runners because you
can possibly be hit with cars or bikes or block participants. The
outside of the transition allows you to see the start, swim, each
time they transition and the finish. You will see them the most
here

Course Maps
Swim Course
The Swim Course is called a Serpentine Swim. It will have racers enter the
water one at a time from fastest to slowest. Swim up one side and down the
other switching lanes each time you complete a lap heading east in the pool.
The Mini Sprint is 300 Yards and Sprint is 600 Yards but the Sprint course on
swim is an F1 Format that repeats the entire course Swim, Bike, Run then
Swim, Bike, Run again so it will give you the extra 300 on the second time.
Bike Course
The Bike Course is a flat and very windy and a looped course. 5.5 miles. The
Sprint gets a second lap on this after the second swim.
Run Course
The Run Course is awesome with a beautiful layout and a run under a canopy
of trees at the Layton Commons Park. This is also a looped course of 1.55
miles for the Mini. The Sprint does this again after their second bike ride to
total 3.1 miles.
