Nancy Pinkston. She was born 1792 in Prob. Ky1, and died 10 Mar 1844 in Missouri.
I believe that George's first name is Lawrence. I can't find my source at the moment. Need to go through things again. Nov 2001.

Kentucky in the sum of Fifty pounds current money to which payment will and truly to be made to the said Commonweath we bind

They were raised by their Aunt Jane Woolery who had married Charles Younger, half 1st cousin to
Thomas Coleman Younger of the infamous Jessie James gang. Charles Franklin's 2nd wife was Becky
James, perhaps a descendant of the Jessie James gang. Charles Franklin's 1st, Anna May Jones' 2nd
husband was Richard Franklin Younger, half 1st cousin twice removed to Thomas Coleman

Medora died in a hospital in San Bernanrdino, Cal. Funeral services were held there, then the body was
sent to Pueblo, CO. for burial at Mountain View Cem.
Some info has two more children born- Elizabeth Bowles & Sheila Bowles (B. Jan 1884 in Morgan Co,
MO) and apparently stillborn and died shortly after birth. I have never heard any family stories about

Medora and James Henry Bowles were married at the home of Dr. & Mrs. Carr (Louisa) in Morgan Co,
MO. by James E. Sims, Baptist Minister. It was filed for record on the 26th day of Dec, 1879. Signed

Letter from Ruthie ? to her grandmother, Elizabeth Learned, in Augusta, KS, in 1973. Virgil & Robert
Papen visited Mrs. Learned and she gave them copy of Ruthie's letter. Hard to read. Was photostat of
yellow tablet paper. Now in Robert Papen's file. States that Lawrence Woolery was son of Stephen
Woolery and Kate Swearingen. My records do not show Stephen C. Woolery as being married to a
Kate Swearingen only to Catherine Sailen (Saling) and Polly Shurley. May be a different Stephen but
anyway apparently Lawrence married his lst cousin, Martha Annie B. Woolery, daughter of John
Brisco Woolery in 1877.
Info from Donya Hoeppner (July 2000) has another daughter, Francis Mary Woolery, listed, but does
not have a Charles Woolery listed.

Mary Jane Woolery was born Feb. 19, 1848, in Cooper County, Mo; died April 15, 1906, at high noon,
at her home in Camden County. She moved with her parents to Morgan county in childhood, where
she resided until about 1869, when she moved to Phellps county, thence to Camden county where she
lived until her death. Both of her parents died before her 13th birthday, and she being the oldest child,
assumed the duty of mother and sister to the 5 younger childdren. She was married to Ed Robinson in
1861 and to this union was born two children, both dying in infancy. Her husband died Dec. 25, 1864.
She was again married to John K Wallis in 1866. To this union was ten children born, all of whom
survive her, and were with her in her last illness.
Besides her children she leaves an aged husband, three brothers and one sister, as follows: John C.
Woolery of Morgan County, R.H. Woolery of Camden County, and B.F. Woolery of Miller Coounty,
all being at her bedside in her last hours.
She joined the M.E. Church in 1867 at the old Self Chapel in Morgan County under the pastorate of
Uncle Sammy Colborn, and lived a true Christian the remainder of her life. She was confined to her
bed 3 1/2 months and everything was done that mortal hands could do to save her, but to no avail. The
remains were laid to rest in the Freedom cemetary on the 16th. Her husband was laid to rest beside
her last March after spending twenty long lonesome years without her. Contributed.

Buried by his first wife, Sarah Thomas, at Iberia,MO Cem. When he remaried, his and Sarah's children
went to live with Carrie, the oldest and married child. According to my grandfather, Benjamin Elda
Woolery, there was a lot of complications growing up with both his mother and father having several
children by their first marriages. He was raised with his Madden half brothers and sisters, but saw his
Woolery half brothers and sisters.

Copy of obit. - "B.F. Woolery was born at Otterville, Cooper county, Mo., March 10, 1856; died April
22, 1927, age 71 years, 1 month and 12 days. In November, 1878 he was married to Sarah Thomas. To
this union eight children were born. Four died in infancy and four living- Mrs. B.A. Carroll of
Strafford, Mo., Earnest of Ulman, MO., Bearney of Hoxie, Ark., and Elvin of Jefferson City, Mo. After
the death of his first wife, he married Mrs. Alice Madden (widow of Thomas Madden) in June, 1899.
To this union four children were born. One died in infancy, and those living are Eldie and Clare of
Iberia, and John of St. Louis. He has three sisters and one brother dead; is survived by one brother,
John Woolery, of Glenstead, Mo. He united with the Methodist Church early in his life and lived an
active and consistent Christian life until his death. Impressive funeral services, conducted by Rev. J.C.
Thompson of Brumely, were held froom the Iberia Methodist Church saturday afternoon after which
interment was made in the town cemetery. Members of the Iberia Woodman Camp served as
pallbearers and conducted brief ceremony at the grave."

Woolery suffered a stroke of paralysis over a year ago and since that time had been unable to do but
very little work on the farm. About two weeks ago he had a second stroke and despite all medical aid,
succumbed to the malady on the above date. The deceased was a public spirited citizen, a good
neighbor and devoted husband and father. Since early in life he has been a active Christian worker, his
life being one worthy of emulation. He was a member of the Madden Methodist Church and for many
years was superintendent of its Sunday School. He was a charter member of the Iberia M.W.A. Camp
and continued his membership in good standing up to his death."

"Francis Alice Woolery was born October 1, 1863, and passed away November 30, 1948, at the age of
85 years, 1 month, and 24 days. She was born in Pulaski Co, MO, and at an early age came to
Millercounty where she was united in marriage to Thomas Madden, and to this union 6 children were
born; one daughter, Lulu Elders, passed away 14 years ago; those surviving are 3 sons and 2 daughters;
Clarence of Woodland, Calif., Everett and Edward of Iberia, MO., Mrs. George Teaverbaugh and Mrs.
Gordon Groves of Iberia, MO.
On June 16, 1899, she was united in marriage to Frank Woolery; 4 children were born, 3 sons and 1
daughter; one son died in infancy; those surviving are Elda and John of Iberia, MO., and Clara Large of
Kansas City, MO.
Early in life Mrs. Woolery united with the Madden Methodist Church, and remained a faithful follower
of Christ all of her life. She leaves to mourn her passing, three sisters, Martha A. Grey of Arlington,
MO., Mary Pickering of Springfield, MO., and Mrs. L.H. Herron of Chicago, Ill.; eight children, 29
grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 2, 1948, at 2:00 PM at the Iberia Methodist Church,
Rev. Theodore Wolff, officiating minister. Burial was made in the Madden cemetery. Arrangements
were under direction of Hedges Funeral Home of Iberia."

Letter from Ruthie ? to her grandmother, Elizabeth Learned, in Augusta, KS, in 1973. Virgil & Robert
Papen visited Mrs. Learned and she gave them copy of Ruthie's letter. Hard to read. Was photostat of
yellow tablet paper. Now in Robert Papen's file. States that Lawrence Woolery was son of Stephen
Woolery and Kate Swearingen. My records do not show Stephen C. Woolery as being married to a
Kate Swearingen only to Catherine Sailen (Saling) and Polly Shurley. May be a different Stephen but
anyway apparently Lawrence married his lst cousin, Martha Annie B. Woolery, daughter of John
Brisco Woolery in 1877.
Info from Donya Hoeppner (July 2000) has another daughter, Francis Mary Woolery, listed, but does
not have a Charles Woolery listed.
