Recology Hay Road is conveniently open every
day of the week from 8 AM until 4 PM. There is no
extra charge to drop off oil and filters to the facility.
Recology presented a donation of $10,377.29 to
the Dixon Teen Center during a recent Dixon City
Council meeting. The funds were raised through
the Recology Invitational Golf Tournament that
was held on June 29 in Vacaville. Recology employees and their family, friends, and associates
competed in the tournament. Photo courtesy of the

The summer bloom is now changing to falling leaves. Customers have
three options for the collection of additional yardwaste for customers
with 96-gallon green Toter® service only. The first option is to rent
additional yardwaste Toters® from Recology Vacaville Solano. The
second option is to use your own sturdy 32-gallon cans that have handles
and tight fitting lids. The third option is to use twine to tie tree or shrub
prunings into bundles that are no larger than 3 feet by 2 feet. There is no
extra charge for bundles or for the emptying of extra 32-gallon customer
provided cans. Place extra yardwaste cans beside your green Toter®.
Your green Toter® must be set out to use this service. Customers with
32-gallon green Toter® service do not get extra yardwaste collections.
Holiday Recycling
Christmas trees
are easy to recycle
in Vacaville. After
the holidays, just cut
your tree into threefoot-long sections
and stack them next to the green yardwaste Toter®
between December 26 and January 4.
Trees may always be cut to fit inside the yardwaste Toter®. Trees placed in the green Toter® must
be free of tinsel, flocking, ornaments, and tree
stands. The Toter® lid must be able to close. Trees
with these materials may be cut up and placed in
your gray trash Toter® or call for a special pickup.
Treecycling Donations
Please consider supporting local youth groups
that recycle trees. Tree recycling is one way Boy
Scout troops and other youth groups raise funds
after Christmas. These groups will collect whole
trees for a small donation.
Click www.vacavillerecycling.com or call the
City’s recycling information line at 454-5705
during the holiday season for a listing of Boy
Scout troops that will do pickups in your area.
Cardboard Box Recycling
Large corrugated cardboard boxes are accepted
at the Recology Recycling Facility at 8551/2
Davis Street in Vacaville. The Recycling Facility is
open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 AM until
3 PM. Boxes may also be flattened and placed in
the blue recyclables Toter® for collection. The lid
of the Toter® must be able to close.
Help Keep Children Warm
The Give Winter Garb a Second Chance
program is a great way to keep your neighbors warm while keeping unwanted clothing from going to the landfill. Just gather
your unwanted coats, jackets, and blankets
and set them out on your regular collection
day between November 4 and November 8.
Place items in a plastic bag that is clearly
marked “Winter Garb” and set the bag
next to your green or blue Toter®.
City of Vacaville staff work with Recology
Vacaville Solano, local schools, organizations, and businesses to annually provide coats,
jackets, and blankets to the community. Donated
items will be
collected by your
