We all are struggling in our day to day practice to make various wounds
(Trauma Wounds, Crush injuries, Gangrenous Wounds, Degloving injuries,
Avulsion Injuries, Lower Limbs Injuries with or without Fractures, Vasculitic
Ulcers, Chronic Non Healing Leg Ulcers, Bed Sore, Diabetic Foot Ulcers,
Venous Ulcer, Trophic Ulcer, Necrotising Fascitis, Cellulitis, Burst Abdomen,
Wound Dehiscence, Burns, Oral Ulcers, Malignant Wounds etc.) to heal
with one or the other way. Wound Care is provided by Interns, Medical
Officers, Casualty Medical Officers, General Practitioners, Dermatologists,
Physicians, Diabetologists, General Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Orthopedicians, Maxillofacial Surgeons, Dental-Oral Surgeons, Surgical Oncologists,
Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Orthotist-Prosthetists,
Podiatrists etc. Irrespective of Site & Type of Wound or Specialty involved
Principles of Wound Healing & Management remains same. What is more
important is to keep our knowledge up to date so that both we and patients are benefitted. Keeping this in the mind CME on ‘Wound Update’ is
being Organized by the Department of Plastic Surgery, JIPMER, Puducherry
on 11th to 13th October 2013. Dedicated International & National Faculties
will deliver Lectures, share their knowledge and answer questions on various aspects of Wound Healing & Management. The participants will be
provided with Participation Certificate, Conference Kit, Lunch, Morning

French colony of Pondicherry. Pondicherry is well linked with Chennai by road (163 kms,
around 2 hrs 30 mins). Pondicherry is connected by a railway line from Viluppuram and
Chennai. Pondicherry has an airport which is going to start by the end of 2012.Pondicherry’s
beauty lies in its quiet existence and vibrant surrounding. For many people, Pondicherry is
many things. For somebody looking for inner peace, it is the tranquil land that embodies
spirituality, while a romantic twosome can find the ‘un-intruding’ air of the place scintillatingly

September 2013.Abstracts submitted after the deadline will not be
accepted.
2. The abstract must be typed in English using Times New Roman 10 point
font and single line spacing. Do not type in capital letters. Abstracts that
do not comply will not be accepted.
3. The word count must not exceed 250 words. Kindly make sure that your
punctuation is accurate as the abstracts would be published in the
submitted format only. Abstracts that do not comply will not be accepted.
4. The first named author must be the presenting author, to whom all
correspondence will be sent. The presenting author's name will be
underlined in the abstract book and they must register to attend the
conference and be prepared to take questions at the conference.
5. Abstracts will be considered anonymously by the Scientific Programme
Committee. Only the Author will receive notification of acceptance/
rejection, and further information as applicable.
6. You are encouraged to use the following layout for your abstract:

o Patients and Methods
o Results and statistics
o Conclusions
o Selected References
7. Where applicable you are strongly advised to include result data in your
abstract. Statements such as “the data or results will be presented” are
discouraged.
8. You must declare any conflict of interest for your presentation. Should
your abstract be accepted this information will appear in the Abstract
book. Your final slide should contain a declaration of any conflict of
interest. If your presentation is a poster then the information should be
included in a paragraph at the bottom.
9. Presenting authors whose abstracts are accepted must register to attend
the conference and pay the appropriate registration fee.
10. Presentations for award paper
1. The title slide should NOT indicate the name of the institution.
2. The work should reflect that it has been carried out by the presenter.
