GLOBAL SPECTRUM HAMILTON kicked off their 2nd annual
12 Days of Giving Campaign where each day from
Dec. 8–19, staff members will band together to give
back to a charity near and dear to them. Charities
that will be receiving support include: Hamilton/
Burlington SPCA, Mary’s Place Women’s Shelter,
City Kids and Good Shepherd, among others.
COLONIAL LIFE ARENA
participated in the 30th Annual
Carolina-Clemson Blood Drive on November 19th
by hosting 2 busses on its plaza. The blood drive
was a great success as we beat our goal given to
us by the Red Cross. We collected 74 pints of blood
which, according to the Red Cross, can save up to
222 lives! Thanks to the Harlem Globetrotters for
donating 40 tickets to be given away to donors.
The Carolina-Clemson Blood Drive is a competition
each year to see which school will donate more
blood and we did our part to help the University of
South Carolina win for the 7th straight year. The
drive lasts the full week as collections are taken
all across the state. The full campaign resulted in
6,896 people donating. We were happy to be a part
of something that results in something this great!
Day 1: The Marketing team loves animals, so for Day #1 they decided to stop by
the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA to donate $250 toward new dental equipment to
help the staff keep all the animal’s smiles shiny and bright! SEVERAL STAFF MEMBERS
at the Palm Beach County
Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida raised
awareness and supported Breast Cancer Awareness
month this past October by wearing pink.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
The
Liacouras Center joined the fight
against breast cancer in the month
of October. Teaming up with Susan
G. Komen Philadelphia, the building
participated in Lights for the Cure
by shining the lobby lights pink on
October 1st and keeping them pink
throughout the month. In addition,
all full-time Global Spectrum
staff wore pink polo shirts to all
October Events and part time staff
used pink lanyards for their staff

Temple University Homecoming

“UNITE AGAINST HUNGER” The Liacouras
HABITAT
FOR
HUMANITY
Global
Spectrum staff from The Liacouras
Center volunteered with Habitat
for Humanity in Philadelphia on
November 5th. The staff assisted
Habitat employees at a build site
in South Philadelphia by installing
wood floors, putting up siding,
painting,
and
various
other
projects to help complete a house
Center at Temple University hosted
a campus wide Philabundance Food
Drive from November 17th through
December 5th. 14 university
organizations and departments
collected over 5,000 pounds of food
to donate to Philabundance, which
distributes food to about 75,000
people all across the Delaware Valley.
The Liacouras Center coordinated
the drive, housed the donations,
schedule pick-ups, and offered the
winning student organization a
credit to be used at the buiding!

BankUnited Center Marketing Manager Alecia Pynn
presented a check to the University of Miami’s Frost
School of Music’s Dean Shelton G. Berg, awarding
the funds raised from the arena’s CharityBuzz auction
from the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Marc Anthony, who won 10 Billboard Latin Music
awards that evening and performed his latest hit “Vivir
Mi Vida,” was one of several performers from the
show who autographed the guitar for the BankUnited
Center’s CharityBuzz auction.
THE UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM
MANAGED BY GLOBAL SPECTRUM
Blue Star Moms took place from Nov. 3–7 and it was
extended on the 9th for the opportunity for more
items to be collected during the game day of Cardinals
vs. St. Louis Rams. We filled 3 large appliance boxes
of non-perishable items and toiletries.
St. Mary’s Food Bank, Nov. 20—A group of 11 team
members participated in packing groceries at the St.
Mary’s warehouse in Phoenix. At the end of the day, 28
pallets of food were packed, which created 1,680 boxes
to be dispersed, totaling 31,000 lbs. of food donated.
IOWA EVENTS CENTER STAFF PARTICIPATE IN
ANNUAL CHARITY FOOD AND BLANKET DRIVES
Over 225 canned food items and $250 were collected
by the staff at the Iowa Events Center for their annual
Food Drive. Departments were divided into two
teams for a friendly competition to see which team
could donate the most. The winning team received
a prize of their choice; (prizes included, bagels,
cookies, or an ice cream party.) The collection was
donated to a local food bank and the cash donation
alone helped pay for over 20 people’s holiday meal.
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 16TH
was the St. Charles
Convention Center’s seventh annual Helping
Hands for the Holidays charity event. Prior to
Helping Hands for the Holidays we accept donations
of winter clothing, personal care items, and food
to distribute at the event. At the event we provide
attendees with a warm holiday meal, pictures
with Santa, health care screenings and services,
children’s activities, free books, and more. The
event is free and no proof of need is necessary for
attendees. This year we served over 1,400 people in
need, bringing our seven year total to over 6,800
people who have benefited from this charity event.
There were 15 community organizations that
contributed to the event.
Iowa Events Center staff donated over 40 blankets
to the Catholic Worker House in Des Moines
during their 2nd annual Warm Blanket Drive. Staff
members earned a chance to win a pair of Fleetwood
Mac tickets for each blanket donation they brought
in. This greatly encouraged participation!
