Despite the BMW Z8 being based on the BMW Z07 Concept that was revealed at the 1997 Tokyo Auto Show, the Z8's flowing design owes all influence to
BMW's milestone model, the 507. Features taken from one of the most important design icons of the 1950s can be recognised all round with the twin-kidney
grille and long sweeping bonnet.
Sharing its power-train with the E39 M5, the Z8 is equipped with a high revving a 4.9-litre V8 regarded as one of BMW's finest. Producing a staggering 400
bhp at 6600 rpm and 500 Nm of torque at 3800 rpm, the Z8 can accelerate from 0-60 in just 4.2 seconds ultimately reaching 170 mph without BMW's 155mph
electronic limit.
The Z8 also proved to be a breakthrough concept for the BMW brand, through its all aluminium chassis construction resulting in a significant weight loss and
serving to its blistering performance, still imposing on today's standards.
This BMW Z8 was first delivered on the 11th May 2001, supplied in the striking combination of Jet Black over a Red and Black Hide interior, with matching
Red carpets and an optional Anthracite Headliner. The exterior benefits from 18" Alloy wheels as well as factory hard top roof and Red Hide wind deflector.
