MARKET WATCH
Vietnam international arrivals in March 2016
increased by 28,3%, reached the highest growth rate
since July 2015. Generally, international arrivals in the
first quarter of 2016 increased by 19,9% compared to
the same period of 2015.
International visitors’ arrivals from the 5 Western
European countries including France, Germany,
Italia, Spain and the UK - granted visa exemption
since 1st of July 2015 – rose as follow: Italia 27,9%,
Spain 26,5%, the UK 23,3%, Germany 18,7% and
France 11%. Visitors’ arrivals from those accounted for
53,8% of the total number of tourists from European
region.
The greatest result belongs to the Northeast Asia
market with the highest growth of 56,7%, taking a
proportion of 53,3% of the total number of
international visitors to Viet Nam, especially contribution
of Hong Kong, China and Korea tourists. The ASEAN’s
markets reported an average growth of 13,41% in
comparison with the same period last year.
The major source markets of Vietnam Tourism also strongly increased back in the 1st quarter, especially
China (65,9%), Thailand (31,8%), Russia 13,5% in compared to 2015.

REPUBLIC
With the aim at boosting tourism cooperation
between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, the
delegation of VNAT had a series of practical
discussions with Czech tourism authority as well
as other governmental organization that is the

Development and other related associations and
travel agents of the Czech Republic.
Especially, on March 14, Vietnam - Czech
Tourism Forum 2016 was organized and
attracted 150 representatives from Czech
tourism, aviation agencies, as well as
Vietnamese officials and business people. The

of 13 Vietnam enterprises and 30 Czech
enterprises to exchange information, find out the
needs and possibilities of business cooperation
between the parties.

VNAT PRESENTED AT ATF AND TRAVEX
2016 IN MANILA, PHILIPPINES.
This is the most important tourism event in the area,
held alternately by ASEAN countries since 1987.
Vietnam delegation was led by Madam Dang Thi
Bich Lien - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and
Tourism. Attending TRAVEX this year from 19 to
23rd January, VNAT built the national tourism booth
with the participation of Provincial Tourism
Departments, the national flag carrier Vietnam
Airlines and tourism enterprises. On the first day, the
national stand welcomed more than 500
international visitors, in particular a large number of

2016
The
23rd
Moscow
International Travel Tourism
2016 (MITT 2016) was taken
place from 23-26 March 2016
at the Moscow Expo Center
and
attracted
national
tourism agencies, tourism
enterprises coming from 192
countries and territories.
In the framework of the fair, VNAT
coordinately organized the Press
Conference on introducing Viet
Nam destinations, attracted more
than 100 international enterprises
and press agencies.
On 25 March 2016, Vice
Chairman, Dr. Nguyen Quoc
Hung led the delegation to have
a meeting with Russian National
Administration
of
Tourism,
Russian Tourism Association
and Russian tourist businesses
sending visitors to Turkey and
Egypt to discuss about the
tourism issues as well as
solutions
to
improve
the
efficiency
of
tourism
cooperation between the two
countries in the coming period.
