Cheek dimple creation:
Who is an ideal candidate?
Some young women opt for these procedures to mimic the cheeks of their preferred celebrities.
The surgery is usually performed in females, on any kind of cheek, be it plump or not. It would be easier if the
cheeks are not too chubby. The surgical procedure used to create dimples is a fairly simple one and is commonly
done on an outpatient basis. If someone wants dimples that are very prominent, a bigger punch biopsy will be used
to be able to remove a bigger core of soft tissue.
What is the philosophy behind dimple creation surgery?
The procedure involves replicating the natural way a dimple is formed, by forming a connection between the skin
and the cheek muscle, such that when the muscle contracts, it pulls the skin inwards to form a dimple.
How exactly a dimple is surgically created?
A punch biopsy instrument is placed against the inner cheek and circular motions are made to cut through the
mucosa, sub mucosal fat, and cheek muscle. A circular core composed of these tissues is removed, leaving the skin
intact, which will create a shallow cylindrical-shaped defect under the skin.
This 'defect' then is closed by placing an absorbable suture through the cheek muscle on one side of the defect,
then through the dermis layer of the skin and finally through the cheek muscle on the other side of the defect. A
suture is tied, which in turn will result in dimpling of the skin even without smiling.
The skin will, however, flatten out in two weeks when the suture is absorbed. The internal scarring which takes
place will connect the muscle to the skin, creating a dimple when one smiles.
Does this procedure leave any scar?
Dimple creation procedure will not leave any scar
What is an anesthesia used for dimple creation surgery?
Usually performed under local anesthetic, the surgery takes about 40 minutes, and normal activities can be
resumed straight after the procedure. You walk in without a dimple and leave with your desired facial dimples.
What post-operative care is required?
There is usually minimal swelling after, and the aftercare steps are just as simple uncomplicated as the procedure.
The aftercare usually involves regular mouth rinsing with mouthwash.
Cheek fat reduction:
Who is an ideal candidate?
This procedure is offered for those people who are conscious about their bulky cheeks. It is done for both males
and females in their young age usually after 20s
How is this procedure performed?
It is performed under local anesthesia, as an outpatient procedure. It is done through intraoral route, means from
inside mouth so that it will not leave any scar/mark.
What is exactly done in this procedure?
Cheek fat pads are excised/removed through inner lining of the cheeks, when fat pads are removed the external
cheek bulkiness will be reduced without leaving any mark. Sometimes this will be combined with liposuction to
make the whole cheek even.
How is the recovery after the surgery?
There will be swelling for 3-4 days, gradually improve with pain killers and ice applications, results are perceived at
the end of 10 days. Results are going to be permanent.
Hallow cheek filling
Cheek fillers and Cheek implants

Hallow cheeks in absolutely healthy individual is either by filler injection of fat injection into the cheeks
Filler or fat has to be injected between skin and muscle layers
Fillers: there are both temporary and permanent fillers available for injection into the cheeks
Fat: Fat is natural material, to be extracted from the abdomen or buttocks of the same person, it is filtered and
injected with fine cannulas evenly
At least 50% over correction is required when fat used as afiller, because significant volume resolves
spontaneously over a period of time
How long the procedure will take? How is the recovery?
Fat injection of the cheeks is 1-2 hr procedure, will be done under local anesthesia.
Cheeks, operative swelling will subside over a period of 2-3 weeks and one would appreciate the result.
Some of the fat resorption will occur over period of 3-4 months
