Le8er from the Chair
We at Howard Hanna just celebrated our
2015 Awards and Achievements.
Personally, I received what I feel is the
greatest award I can get in Real Estate.
Howard Hanna’s “Q” award. You might
say, “Marc, what is the Q Award?”
It is awarded to agents who have
achieved an excellent rang from their
clients in regards to customer service
within the industry and our business. I am very proud to receive
this again!
Customer service is an aLtude – not a process, result or desire.
What is your idea or feeling of customer service? Some things
that come to mind for me are:
Be a good listener – how do you know what your clients
want if you talk all the me about what you do? You should
be listening to them so you know what you can do FOR
them.
♦ Make every customer feel important and appreciated – put
the phone down. Make eye contact – shake their hand. Find
a way to compliment them – be sincere and businesslike.
Thank them every chance you get.
♦ Know the power of “yes” – always be looking for ways to
help your customers. Let them know you can do something,
within reason – even if you have to figure it out later. Under
promise and over deliver!
♦ Know when to apologize – believe it or not – you will make
mistakes with your customers. Know how and when to say
you are sorry. Fix it and move on.
♦ Feedback – feedback in business as with life is a giP! Always
be seeking feedback from not only your clients, but your
employees as well. Many minds solve many problems.
When you get feedback and act on it – let them know how
it went. Good or bad.
♦ Treat your employees well – guess what? When you treat
the people who work for you well – they in turn treat YOUR
customers well. Keep them involved and engaged in what
your goals are. They will return the favor many mes over.
♦ Don’t sell – many mes we mistakenly over sell our goods
and services to our clients and customers. It is crical that
they understand how you do business – but it is more important for them to understand how you do it benefits
them!
Awards, accolades and people knowing who you are—it’s all
part of what we do in life and in business. However, I feel the
most rewarding is knowing that you have done someone else a
great job and they in turn tell others about you!
When: Thursday, May 12, 7:30—9:30 a.m.
Where: Don Umerley Civic Center
Cost: $15 for members, $20 for non-members

remaining 80% is generated from maintenance, updates, labor

Hi, my name is Debbie Brink and I am
the owner of Pure Enchantment,
located in the Old River Shopping area. My husband Bill & I
became members of the Rocky River Chamber in 2009 because River is such a close-knit city and the Chamber reflects
this community-oriented spirit. The members are all so supporve and I am so thankful for that.
Greengs everyone; this is Dr.
Bob De Maria, Director of the
Drugless Doctors. We are a family business that my wife
Debbie and I started in Elyria in 1978 aPer finishing my graduate training at the University of Health Sciences in Chicago.
We joined the Rocky River Chamber commerce two years
ago.
I was born into a family of entrepreneurs in Northeast Ohio,
so naturally I have thought of owning my own business since
I was a young girl. APer being a stay-at-home Mom and then
working in the real estate field for several years, I was introduced to the product that would lead me to where I am today. It was in the Summer of 2000 when Bill and I, along with
our blended family of five children, were on a vacaon in
Wilmington N.C. where I bought my first natural soap. Intrigued by the effects, I began to research ingredients and
recipes and was soon creang my own natural skin care line
out of my River home. What started as a hobby, Pure Enchantment was launched in September 2003 at the Rocky
River Cheerleader craP show. Then in 2007, I took a leap of
faith and quit my corporate job to dedicate myself to Pure
Enchantment full me. It was in December 2008 when I decided to open my store at Beachcliff Market Square, a place
where customers could come in and see where the products
are made, while diffusing the scent of the day throughout
the store. In addion to our line of products, I began to offer
a variety of cozy robes, slippers, candles, teas and pampering
giPs. Then in June of 2015, we moved to my dream locaon
on Old Detroit Rd in the historic downtown Rocky River, a
perfect fit of history and charm.
Deb and I started the pracce together and have worked side
by side raising two kids while juggling all the other responsibilies of family and life—before the handiness of cell phones
and computers. Our son Dr. Anthony joined the pracce with
his wife Dr. Casen in 2012. Our oldest son Dominic is behind
the scenes managing our social media pla\orm.
I have been truly blessed to be doing what I really enjoy and
in a city we love to call home!
Page 6
Team De Maria decided to add an addional clinic and started our home base and new locaon in Westlake in 2013. We
were looking for a progressive community with a wellness
culture mindset. We all have extensive post graduate training and cerficaons in a diversity of subjects including pediatrics, orthopedics, female health, ADHD and detoxificaon.
We chose the west side of Cleveland because of the close
proximity to the city and highway access. We also needed a
locaon which could contain our very advanced video fluoroscopy unit (real me moon x-rays).
We have been pleasantly surprised with the friendliness and
the excellent service we have been provided by the Rocky
River Chamber members we have worked with and have
used for several of our personal and business needs. We all
enjoy the variety of acvies and events that have fit into our
schedule; there is something to do for all of us. We have parcipated in the baseball games, the Business Expo, and luncheons and Business APer Hours events. Liz and her team have
provided us with a variety of names for professional services
which have helped immensely. As business entrepreneurs,
we all tend to be stretched in a variety of direcons with organizaons and social media opportunies, it has been a real
joy to see new and familiar faces and speak with people who
have experienced life like we have. The Rocky River Chamber
has been a blessing; we look forward to many years of developing our relaonships and networking with other business
leaders in the community.
