Meet Our Head Students—
Head Boy Oscar Paul
Oscar Paul came to Kavanagh College in Year 7
from Abbotsford School, a school of about 180
students.
Oscar has been a part of many aspects of Kavanagh College,
from representing Kavanagh on the sports field in hockey,
badminton and captaining teams in futsal and basketball, to
attending Bishops Shield and Peer Mentoring. This year
Oscar is one of the The Edge Interns for Kavanagh College.
Oscar studies Economics, History, Stats, English, Digital
Technologies and Religious Education. His favourite activities
at Kavanagh are Kavanagh Day—because of the school spirit
displayed by everyone—participating in banter alongside
Jordan Wilson and playing in the social sports grades with his
team-mates. Oscar is a proud member of Pompallier House.
His intentions as Head Boy of Kavanagh College this year are:
Be a genuine, approachable and honest leader, encouraging
students to participate in the variety of sports on offer and
promoting the four core values of the College.
Year 7 and 8's
If you enjoy maths problem
solving, or just want to develop
your maths thinking, please give

Relay for Life
Congratulations to all students and their
supporters for the great effort put into
last weekends Relay for Life.
Introducing new staff member
Anna Louw-Young—
Bursar’s Assistant
After 20 years working both full and part-time
jobs in Dunedin, Oamaru and the UK I have
confirmed my belief that nothing is more important than family.
That being said, when the opportunity to work at Kavanagh
College presented itself I jumped at the chance with open arms,
knowing that it will allow me the ideal mix of work and family,
enabling me to be more involved in my children's schooling and
giving me the chance to be part of the Kavanagh College family.
I have always regarded Kavanagh as an ideal place of learning,
allowing children to balance academic achievement with a great
sense of who they are, where they belong and what role they have
to play within their community and the great wide world and I am
proud that I can now play my part in that step.
I look forward to getting to know all the Kavanagh families over
many years to come.
The lost property box is overflowing with
clothing, shoes etc. If your child has lost
any item of clothing please ask them to
check the lost property box which is
situated in the teachers workroom, next to
the staffroom.
Thank you.
