Center gets
two thumbs up
Emmy winner visits

Emmy-winning television
producer Don DuPree has
worked with Oprah Winfrey
and Roger Ebert and some
of the world’s biggest stars.
But on Wednesday, Jan.
22, he had an entirely different challenge on his hands
— wrangling the attentions
of a room filled with young,
unbridled talent at The
Bridge Teen Center.
It was a tall task for the
Chicago TV veteran, but
showing off his shiny gold
Emmy was a good place to
start. The dozen or so teens
in attendance for DuPree’s
presentation — “What’s
it Like to be a TV Producer?” — were wide-eyed and
mesmerized by the prestigious award, as it was
passed from seat to seat.
