Sermon Introduction
It is my privilege to welcome you to today’s special worship services—the 2016 Baccalaureate
services of the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy of Loma Linda University. This
highly-anticipated weekend has, no doubt, occupied the thoughts, energies, and prayers of
many graduates and family members. We are delighted to celebrate with you!
While today’s services are services of celebration which recognize the work and accomplishments
of the graduates, at a deeper and more significant level they are services in which we come to
offer our worship to God—the One who makes it all possible. They are a time when we come
to “praise God from whom all blessings flow.” As we do so, we “praise him all creatures here
below”—graduates, family members, friends, and worshiping congregation.
I extend a warm welcome to Dr. Zack Plantak, my colleague and friend, who in our first service
today will address the graduates of the Schools of Dentistry and Pharmacy. I know that God
will both challenge and encourage us through Zack’s preaching.
_
And to every graduate I say, congratulations! Relish this weekend as a time to celebrate your
hard work and God’s great blessing.
Onward and upward!
Randy Roberts, Senior Pastor
