Grad in Idol Final
Out of 10,000 contestants, Drew Wright was selected
for Canadian Idol’s final 8 last night. The competition
continues on Mondays at 9:00pm and Tuesdays at
8:00pm on CTV and the winner will be selected in
September. Wright is a 2002 Honours Graduate of the
Producing/Engineering Program. For ticket info to

Troiano Guitar Scholarships
Two $3,000 scholarships will be awarded to study guitar
at any post secondary institution. The scholarships honour guitar legend Domenic Troiano and are supported by
donations from the Canadian music industry. This year
the scholarships have been increased due to the generosity of Alex Lifeson, RUSH and Anthem Entertainment
Group. The deadline to apply is October 31. Information

Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the Harris International Program began in ’98 with the 1st of 6 annual
“peace & reconciliation” programs for young adults
from conflicted areas in Ireland. It continued with a
Pro Tools program with Nashville’s Pro Training Centre and a prototype program for students from Siberia
and the Salmon Arm Reserve. The 4th annual program

Graduation Lobster Dinner
The 19th Annual Harris Institute Graduation and
Awards Dinner will occur on Sunday, October 26 at
Captain John’s on Toronto’s waterfront. Invitations
to Faculty, Staff, Graduates and their families will be
mailed during the first week of September. The first
Music Industry Professional (MIP) Certification will
be presented to Stephen Heidinga who is graduating
from both RAM and PEP with Honours.
New Studio Manager
Bryce Taylor-Vaisey has been appointed Studio
Manager at Harris Institute. He is an Honours Graduate of the Producing/Engineering Program, past
president of the Harris Student Council and previously earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree
at the University of Toronto. His responsibilities
include the music, audio post and MIDI studios, PC

Double Major Renamed
Students completing both the PEP and RAM
Programs will now receive Music Industry Professional (MIP) Certification. Stephen Heidinga
will be the first recipient of MIP Certification at
Harris Institute’s Graduation Dinner on Sunday, October 26, 2008. Former graduates who
have completed both programs are invited to
attend the event to receive MIP Certification and
