Parachutes work well in Singles and Tandems
Longer Leaders catch better than Short Leaders
I usually tie my leaders at 18 and 24 feet
Heavier Bait on the Shorter Leader
Gently lay each Parachute in the water
If the hair is tangled – bring it in & brush it out
BASIC UMBRELLA
GOOD BAITS THAT DO
CATCH FISH
VARIATIONS OF THE BASIC
UMBRELLA WORK BETTER
FOR ME
Enhanced UMBRELLA
3 Shads attached directly
to the umbrella frame
3 Shads offset with short
6-8 inch mono leaders
This rig starts to look more
like a small bait ball
DOUBLE TROUBLE UMBRELLA
6 Shads attached directly
to the inside of frame
6 Shads offset with short
6-8 inch mono leaders to
the outside of frame
This rig does look like a
bait ball in the water
DOUBLE TROUBLE BLING UMBRELLA
6 Shads attached directly
to the inside of frame
6 Shads offset with short
6-8 inch mono leaders to
the outside of frame
This rig does look like a
bait ball in the water
Mylar Skirts on the outside
shads adds some BLING!
“BUNKER BRELLA”
6 Mylar Shads attached
directly to the frame
This imitates a small pod of
bunker in the water
This works very well in the
Fall when Rock are gorging
on Bunker that are migrating
out of the rivers and into the
Main Stem of the Bay

Put Together a Bait Cleaning Kit for your Boat
Dirty Baits don’t catch Fish
Set Up A Cleaning Schedule
Port Rods Top of the Hour and Starboard Rods Bottom of the Hour
Don’t be afraid to speed up a little when turning sharply
STORING BAITS ON YOUR RODS
• Add “Mounting Wire Ties” to your Rods at the
lowest guide and above the fore grip. Optionally
at the reel seat for more versatility.
• This helps me get baits in the water as quickly as
possible
STORING BAITS ON YOUR RODS
• Hang a Parachute from the wire tie at the fore grip
• Wrap that leader around the side of the reel until
the 3 way swivel is tight against the rod blank or
preferably the fore grip.
• Then continue wrapping the second leader around
the opposite side of the reel
• Hang that Parachute from the lowest guide using a
mini bungee
Good Luck This Fall
