scheduling information
The scheduling process for 2013-2014 is quickly approaching! In order to make this a smooth
process for parents and students, please note the following information:
1. Talk with your students about selecting the right courses for their needs. Together, teachers
and parents can guide students to make the right choices.
2. Discuss the option of taking higher-level courses. LBHS offers a variety of honors and
advanced placement courses in all academic subject areas. There is nothing that prepares
a child better for college coursework than the challenge of higher-level courses. Teacher
signature will be required for all academic classes.
3. In order to create balanced classes, allocate teachers to their areas of certification,
and meet class size requirements, we must have all schedule cards turned in on time.
Please encourage your child to follow the procedures as we work through this very
important process.

Institute of Finance
The Institute of Finance students have an opportunity to work
in the Brantley Branch of Central Florida Educators Federal
Credit Union. All tellers complete an intensive training program
at the CFE main office in Lake Mary during the summer. We
are the only school in Seminole County to have a student
run credit union on campus. Our first promotion this year
was a matching deposit of up to $25.00 for all new accounts
opened between the start of school and September 14. We
had a fabulous response to this promotion. On Thursday,
September 27, we celebrated Member Appreciation Day
with free t-shirts and free $5.00 Chick-fil-A gift cards for
all members making a deposit of at least $5.00.We want to
welcome all new members. For those students who are not
members, it is never too late to join. The branch is open
daily between 7:15 and 2:00, except on Wednesday when we
close at 1:00. Many, many thanks to Central Florida Educators
Federal Credit Union for making our branch possible and the
continuous support and sponsored promotions!
The Seniors in the Institute are anxiously awaiting their Senior
Trip to New York City. The trip is scheduled for the end of
January, 2013. While in NYC they will attend a play, take a
dinner cruise to the Statue of Liberty, enjoy a guided bus tour
of the city, and visit the Federal Reserve, see the opening
bell at the NASDAQ, and experience the hustle and bustle
of Wall Street. This is the highlight of their three years of
participation in the Institute. Watch for updates on events for
the sophomore and junior class in the next issue.
Anyone wanting additional information about the Institute
and the many wonderful academic, extracurricular, and
scholarship opportunities available, may contact Janice
Daniels or Kevin Szewczyk.
