The Secretary of State’s Vision
The Goal: To make it easier for entrepreneurs to
navigate the state regulatory process of starting a
business.

easy-to-use online tool-set specifically designed to
meet this goal.

Vision Backed By the RI Statute
§ 42-132-1 Purpose. – The purpose of this chapter is to provide a
convenient, accessible, and timely one-stop system that will enable the
business community to acquire, maintain and file the necessary state
licenses required to start and conduct business in Rhode Island. It is
the intent of the general assembly that use of the fast-start system by a
business be optional and that any business may continue to work
directly with the appropriate state agency if preferred.

described so users can find the forms they need

The New Business Wizard
After answering a few questions about their
business, users are presented with a list of
recommended forms and tasks they can
save to a virtual cart

Users first select their
general business type.

weed out unnecessary forms and tasks.

presents a list of tasks
and forms which the user
can save.
