Autumn!
by: Kailani Ilg
My favorite thing about fall is the weather.
All during the fall you can wear sweatshirts and
boots. When it becomes fall all of the leaves change
colors and fall from the trees, it makes everything
look like a color wonderland. It’s never too hot and
never too cold so fall is the best time for anything,
except swimming. You can have bon fires and smores!
Halloween parties are the best because everyone
dresses up and has candy, games, and apple cider! Fall I
think is the best season for any occasion. You cuddle
up to those you love and watch the leaves fall
gracefully to the ground. Another activity you can do
in fall is ride on horses or hop on hay rides. I love
drinking apple cider and decorating my pumpkins in
scary faces! Finding and carving pumpkins is always
something fun to do to pass the time, and in the end
you have a scary looking pumpkin!
History of 9/11
by: Emma Kastor
On September 11, 2001, at 8:45 A.M. on a clear Tuesday
morning, an American Airlines Boeing 767 loaded with 20,000
gallons of jet fuel crashed into the north tower of the World
Trade Center in New York City. The impact left a gaping,
burning hole near the 80th floor of the 110-story skyscraper,
instantly killing hundreds of people and trapping hundreds
more in higher floors. As the people left the tower and its twin
got underway, television cameras broadcasted live images of
what initially appeared to be a freak accident. Then, 18 minutes
after the first plane hit, a second Boeing 767 United Airlines
Flight 175 appeared out of the sky, turned toward the World
Trade Center and sliced into the south tower near the 60th
floor. The collision caused a big explosion that showered
burning debris over surrounding buildings and the streets
below. America was under attack. The attackers were Islamic
terrorists from Saudi Arabia and several other nations.
Reportedly financed by Saudi fugitive Osama bin Laden’s alQaeda terrorist organization, they were allegedly acting in
retaliation for America’s support of Israel, its involvement in
the Persian Gulf War and its continued military presence in the
Middle East. Some of the terrorists had lived in the United
States for more than a year and had taken flying lessons at
American commercial flight schools. Others had slipped into the
country in the months before September 11 and acted as the
“muscle” in the operation. The 19 terrorists easily smuggled
box-cutters and knives through security at three East Coast
airports and boarded four flights bound for California, chosen
because the planes were loaded with fuel for the long journey.
Soon after takeoff, the terrorists commanded the four planes
and took the controls, transforming ordinary commuter jets
into guided missiles. At the 9/11 scene 2,977 people were
killed.

Are Uniforms in Our Future?
By: Brittany Mazariegos
What do I think about school uniforms? I think that uniforms are necessary
for our Norwalk schools. I think that kids from our school dress fine. We
don’t judge what people wear or like. Neither the teachers judge or make fun
of what they wear. I think that we come to school to learn not to judge what
people wear. Mostly students dress sporty or girly. For many parents it would
be great because they won’t waste money on expensive clothes but the kids or
teenagers wouldn’t like the uniforms. We all have different but we don’t dress
bad. In some parts its good getting uniforms but we won’t like it. Neither
teachers nor principals judge or dislike our clothes. They don’t pick who
dresses more well for the school. They don’t choose between girls or boys. So
in my opinion we shouldn’t get uniforms because it’s not needed in this school.
What would be the good things about uniforms? The good thing about uniforms
would be that parents wouldn’t waste a lot of money. The second thing that is
good about getting uniforms is that some students won’t get judge form others
students what they are wearing because we are all wearing the same things.
In my opinion these are some of the good things they are for getting
uniforms. If we had a vote about getting uniforms the students would pick not
having uniforms. We can handle what be wear for school. So out of all I think
that we shouldn’t have uniforms for Norwalk City Schools.

Having a lot of homework can be overwhelming. We have
to do homework and study for tests as well. With the tests
and homework it’s hard to fit everything in one day. Some
people do sports, so they have their games or practices, and
then they have tests to study for and on top of that
homework. That’s a lot of things to do in one day. It’s also
hard to study for different tests and remember all of the
information.so you might want to take notes if you know you
are that person. Sometimes kids forget things when the tests
come, because kids have other tests that they have to
complete. I don’t mind the homework, it’s just that with the
homework in each class and having to study for tests gets a
bit stressful if you are like me.
We should know what’s on the homework, but it’s hard to
fit in time for homework in every class, you can also ask
questions or stay later, if that doesn’t suit you then ask a
parent. I just believe it’s hard to remember the things we
study for tests. It takes time to do homework, then we have
the rest of our time to study, but sometimes it isn’t enough
time. That’s my opinion on the amount of homework we have,
here at NMS!
I believe middle school students should be allowed to
have their phones in class for many reasons. My first
reason is because of school shootings. I think it’s
necessary to have phones in case of an emergency. I
also believe it’s fair, high school students are allowed,
so we should be allowed.
Phones also can come in handy in some classes. For
example, we could use them in math for calculators or
in newspaper journalism to look up information. Most
everything done now days is on technology so I don’t
see why our phones can’t be used. People should be
able to get ahold of their parents without having to go
call in the office because they may be at work. The
phones don’t even have to be in use, we could just put
them on top of our desks. Norwalk Middle School
students would enjoy having their phones on them
during class if eligible.
by: Rosa Sabala
This is my opinion on the time school starts. I think school starts way too
early for Middle School and High School students. The Middle School and High
School starts at 7:30 which means kids will be waking up around 6. When I did
some research and it says teens need 9½ hours of sleep which is sometimes hard
for people to sleep early if they have personal problems at home or taking care of
siblings. Waking up to early can be difficult for some teens.
This is my opinion on when school should end. I think we should get out
around 3 because I think we should start around 11, so that gives us 4 hours of
school. It gives us 30 or 40 minutes in each class, but in my opinion I think we
shouldn’t have gym or art so it doesn’t interfere with class hours. I think students
should work out after school hours instead of in school. For art I think we don’t
need because we can just do simple projects for certain classes, like Reading,
Language arts and math that involve art.
My opinion on homework is that we shouldn’t have any. I think this because
there is no point for having homework. Students are in school for seven hours for
every weekday, and having more work to do after school is ridiculous. People who
don’t participate or pay attention should be the ones getting homework, but other
people work there hardest in school, and to do more is unnecessary.
Is Bullying an Issue?
by: Rosa Sabala
This is my opinion on bullying. I think people shouldn’t bully others. I think
it’s wrong. I feel like people bully others because they are either jealous of them
or they might want someone to feel what they felt when or if they were bullied. I
always see certain people get bullied, and it makes me feel really sad knowing that
someone is hurt because of what someone said. We should do something about this
problem as a school.
I feel like few teachers do something about this problem. I had a close
friend last year and she got bullied and the teachers did so little to help her. I did
some research and about 1 person commits suicide every 16.2 seconds. I remember
a beautiful young teenager named Amanda Todd had committed suicide because of
one mistake she made, everyone turned on her. I wish if I were there I could have
helped her get through that nightmare. We shouldn’t have to go through this and I
don’t like seeing people go through it. We shouldn’t have to feel like we are alone in
this massive world.
I think everyone who committed suicide in the past should deserve a second
chance in life. I think everybody in the school can make a difference by being kind
to other and helping one another. Others should not make fun of someone for what
brand they wear or how others look like. I think everyone should be treated the
same. Bullying is wrong and people need to realize that before more of us get hurt.
What about School Lunches?
by: Savannah Grant-Bell
3 out of 5students say that the lunches at Norwalk middle school are not
healthy. On Friday, August 28th, 4 students were asked for their opinions on
lunches at our school. The students were all asked the same question and they gave
their opinions to the question. The question they had to answer was “do you think
Norwalk Middle School’s lunches are healthy?” Some students said that the cost
should be lowered, others said that they should add a variety of foods to choose
from. The answers to the interviews are listed below.
#1 Brittany Marariegos 8th grade: “I think they give healthy enough
lunches. They should add more drinks and expand the lunch times and
more snack options.”
#2 Grace Albright 8th grade: “I think the lunches are not healthy
they should add a variety of healthy drinks instead of milk.
I think
they should expand lunch times and add different kinds of food to the
lunch menu.”
#3 Kayle Mowry 8th grade: “I think the lunches are not healthy. They
should add a fruit bar and expand lunch times for all three of the
lunches.”
#4 Maggie Seiler 8th grade: “I think the lunches are healthy but
they should add time for everyone to finish eating their food. They
should buy healthier drinks instead of just milk with lunch.”
#5 Alyssa Pheifer 8th grade: “I think the lunches are not healthy,
they should definitely lower the cost for the lunches and have a snack
bar every Friday with different varieties of food.”
Why Students Are Late for Class
by: Jazmyn Thompson
At school children get tardy slips for, of course, being late to class. Do you know why that
is? It is because of our hallways, or they are just too lazy to get to class on time. But the
topic is hallways so let’s stay on that. Our school hallways are like highways, would you
agree?
An example of what I am saying is we are the cars, while the hallway is the road. One half
of the road belongs to a certain direction, but we don’t have traffic cops. The classrooms
are our jobs, you get there late you are in trouble, no excuses. Well, on highways there are
traffic jams because of someone turning or there was a crash.
The traffic jam would be someone is in the middle of the hallway and we can’t get though.
The crash would be, someone fell because they tripped, tripped on someone, tripped over
books, or someone is turning while everyone else is moving forward. These traffic jams or
stops happen a lot because of the 7 th and 8 th graders. Most 8 th graders say that it is the
7 th graders’ faults, but I believe it is the 7 th and 8 th graders’ faults. The 8 th graders stop
at lockers and talk to their buddies, which makes the 7 th graders stop and run into them.
People also complain about getting hit in the back with books or being pushed in the
hallways, the book hitting’s are because of people stopping which makes the line halt to a
complete stop, then people lean forward on accident and end up hitting someone. For the
people being pushed, that is the children who are sick of waiting in line. I do know some of
those people and their names, but I will not mention them because that would be rude.
For the last problem with the hallways, maybe, the lockers are simply too close together
for people having to share them. I always see people struggling to get into their locker
because someone is still trying to get their things out of their lockers.
This is another huge problem with the hallways and I wish we could fix it but because
money is tight, I don’t believe we can. So, 8 th graders, let’s make it through one more year
of these hallways and make it to high school! 7 th graders… I wish you good luck for next
year because it will be just as hard.
There are many things you need to do to keep good grades. The
first thing you need to do is homework. A lot of people loose many
points from not doing homework. Another thing is to stay organized,
many people loose papers from them being dropped or put in the
wrong folder. If you know you have a test and you don’t know
everything, then you should probably study until you do know
everything you need to.
Talking or day dreaming during a lesson is a bad idea because you
may miss something important that you’ll need to know for a test or
quiz. Some people just don’t do their work even when we do it together
and that can easily hurt your grades. If you play any sports and have to
sit out because of grades, it isn’t a good sign. Staying focused during the
entire class period is important too. Never work on other class work in
a different class because then you’re not fully focused on that paper
and not the information you should know. Grades determine your
college career and sometimes the rest of your life, so get good grades
in school so you have a good life ahead of you!
I am interviewing Mr. Smith of Norwalk Middle School. I was asking him questions about himself
and the things that he likes. His favorite color is blue. Some of his strengths are that he can adapt to
different types of situations, and his weaknesses are that he has a bad temper with students who get
annoying. For his future job he wants to be a middle school teacher and coach. Mr. Smith loves chipotle.
He enjoys listening to the song California Love. As coaching he likes to mentor the youth. The movie Any
Given Sunday is his favorite movie. He loves history. He is also a very good teacher and coach. He enjoys
the Michigan Wolverines football team, and loves watching it too.
The thing that he likes about being a substitute teacher is that he doesn’t have to be there all
school year. Mr. Smith’s career goal is that he wants to be a doctor before the age 35. He fears birds. His
favorite type of pizza is BBQ chicken. Mr. Smith always gets cheered up when he gets over 50 likes on
Instagram. He also enjoys the candy butterfingers a lot. Mr. Smith was born on September 17th, 1989
and loves the 4th of July. His favorite season is fall. Five words to describe Mr. Smith is that he is
motivational, enthusiastic, hardworking, adaptable to different situations, and aggressive. Mr. Smith is
grateful for his family and friends, and likes elephants. His dream vacation would to go to Bora with
Jennifer Aniston. I liked interviewing Mr. Smith and talking to him about what he likes and his hobbies
are.
I think that weekends should be longer than 2
days, because we spend a longer time at school than we
do at home during the week. We never have enough
time on the weekends to do fun stuff. Most people are
at sporting events during the weekends or even during
the week and never have enough time to do homework.
The weekends should at least be 4 days, we can go to
school Tuesday-Thursday and have Friday-Monday off.
That would be a better time schedule than having to be
at school for 7 hours every day Monday-Friday.
We would be able to sleep in the days we don’t
have school and not worry about getting up so early in
the morning for school. Many Norwalk students would
probably like this idea better than coming to school 6
days a week, with a 2 day weekend.

Middle School Drama: Is It Necessary?
by: Kayle Mowry
Ah, yes, middle school drama. We all have either been caught up
in drama or have heard about it. I don’t care who you are, we all know
what it is. But, do you know how it’s caused?
Name calling is a big thing in our school. Whether it’s calling
somebody smart or stupid, there are different forms of it everywhere.
We shouldn’t call anyone anything besides our “friend” or “pretty”.
Names that aren’t nice play a big part in putting others down.
The cliques on our school play a big part of our drama, too. You
have what’s called the “nerds”, “jocks,” and the “outcasts”. Now, you
may not realize it, but all of us are in some kind of clique with our
friend. These cause drama, because only certain people are in these
cliques and the rest, they don’t really fit in. The people between cliques
talk about others in other cliques. Do you see where I’m going with
this? Wouldn’t it be easier if everyone was friends with everyone?
Middle School Drama is something that we don’t need in our daily
lives. It causes self and other student’s problems, creates stress and
makes us not concentrate. Drama also creates hurtful people. To have
friends, you first have to be a friend to those who don’t have any or
few. This year, we should focus more on our studies instead of hurting
others and ourselves.
Remembering 9/11
by: Kayle Mowry
This week, we are remembering our fallen heroes of the tragic
event that occurred 14 years ago, the day we have come to
know by two numbers: 9/11. 9/11 was a devastating day for
people across the United States. Many people remember this
day by visiting the World Trade Center memorial where
thousands of people are recognized and listed for their
bravery and death. This year, at the same time in America,
people will stand in front of our flag and sing the National
Anthem. The National Anthem shows that, even if our country
is destroyed, we will unite as people and recreate our land of
the free, and our home of the brave.
Labor Day in the United States is a public Holiday celebrated on the first
Monday in September. It honors The American Labor Movement and the
contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being
of their country. Beginning in the late 19th century, as the trade union and Labor
movements grew, trade unionists proposed that a day set aside to celebrate labor.’’
Labor Day’’ was promoted by the Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor,
which organized the first parade in New York City. In 1887, Oregon was the first
state of the United States to make it to an official public holiday.
~ Oregon was the first state to celebrate Labor Day as a holiday in
1887.
~Most football teams play their first game of the year during Labor
Day weekend.
~ On June 28, 1894, Congress passed an act making the first Monday in
September of each year a legal holiday in the District of Columbia and
the territories.
~Traditionally people did not wear white or seersucker clothes after
Labor Day as it unofficially marked the end of summer.
Kermit the Cannibal?
by- Kayle M.
As you may know, frogs have long tongue and snatch
up fly’s or small insects. But did you know frogs aren’t
just the bug eating insectivores? They’re actually
“generalist” carnivores. This means, frogs will not only
eat bugs, but any animal smaller than them. It’s no
secret that frogs sometimes snack on their cousins. In
fact, biologists have conducted studies showing that
certain frogs eat their “siblings” which, can also be
classified as members of the same species. While
scientists have known about this frog-on-frog
predation, they haven’t really found the reason why.
Could it be that Kermit likes to eat his siblings, or is it
something more sinister?

Lack of Sleep Epidemic
by: Joie Harris
From elementary school through high school
and beyond, a great number of children are
chronically sleep-deprived. With more than more
than 2/3 of all children having some kind of sleep
problem, and most adolescents not getting enough
sleep, many will struggle to meet new challenges,
demands and emotions of a new school year. It is
not widely recognized just how critical quality
sleep is for brain development and how it directly
influences daytime functioning, performance,
mood, and behavior. When was the last time your
doctor or school teacher asked about your child's
sleep? Parents wouldn't think of letting their
child skip meals or run into a busy street, but
staying up late is very often of little concern. It
shouldn't be. Lack of sleep is a huge issue, it
needs to be stopped.

Wonders of the Unknown Life
This is a story that will continue through the month of November and so on. This
story is about a mythical creature (or a real one if you wish). The mythical creature
is called a mane. In the story the main mane tries to figure out things about life,
and how to handle the humans. Throughout the story the mane will type gibberish into
the computer, distracting the author, so it can talk to you. Now, let’s get to the
story.
This is a story about a mane named Nigel. You don’t know what a mane
is..? Well, why don’t I fill you in on the details?
• Size: approximately 3 foot-lengths tall.
• Gender(s): unisexual.
• Description: thin humanoids with scaly, purplish-blue skin covered
with a smattering of short, coarse hairs and feathers, necks are
elongated and feathered wings extend down the back, eyes are a
yellowish-orange, and mouths are shaped like a beak.
• Lifespan: about ten years.
• Culture: live in cohorts with a distinctive hierarchy
• Abilities: manipulate basic illusions and scale walls
• Ecology: Polluxian plains
This is all the information I can tell you for now. Now, Nigel
foeidruiwdjfuhwdfjnhr. Hey guys it’s Nigel!!! Wanted to say hey
before this story started… good luck with the author though.
Sorry about that everyone, now let us continue the story shall we?
Perfect!
“Oh come on, why can’t I just go scare the other humans?” Nigel
enjoys going around making the humans cower in fear. He also likes to
think he is a boy, so we will call him that from now on.
“No Nigel, you scared those poor creatures yesterday and even the
day before. Give them a break, please. You are lucky that they haven’t
come to kill us yet.”
Of course his parent was always right. Even he can’t deny it, so he
played along and ‘went to bed’. After midnight when his parent went to
check on him, he snuck out and started screaming.
“Ready or not here I come! You can run but you can’t hide!” As he said
this the humans, villagers, bowed down to him. They begged him to
spare their lives, and he did as they wished.
“Oh mister mane sir, please spare my family and I for we are the
farmers of this little village.” With that request Nigel was upset, he
replied angrily. “You man, stand up. Yes you, come here. I shall spare
your family if you come to join me in the mane community; we are
looking for more to join us as we grow bigger and stronger.”
This made the man question a few things, but finally he agreed. “With
me being a mane I can scare away the birds, from the crops!”
Little did this villager know that he only had about 10 years of life to
live after signing that contract. After that he took the man and left
the village.
So now, feufnuiererertruhea. Nigel again, I want to make it clear that
I didn’t kill any humans or harm anyone. It is all just some harmless fun
: ).
No, he killed one person. It was an accident though; he somehow set
their house on fire with a torch. No one saw it coming.

What Will Happen When the World Ends?
This story is about how a girl and her “friends” help each other through the new
world. During the time reading this, the main character will be breaking the fourth
wall, talking to you (the reader) directly. This is a continuing story and will continue
through the month of October and so on.
On September Fourth 2034 is when it all happened; it is when our amazing one and only
Commander Coogle fell down, leaving us to bandits and killers... You want to know more
about me? Sure, why not? I may as well, since you are here. The name’s Homura Akemi,
may have heard of me before, no? Well then, why don’t you peek into my life where it all
began then, let’s see what you can find
“Today our Commander fell due to an attack at the base. No one knows how the intruders
got in, nor do we know how they got out alive. We have caught one person, though, due to
her trying to slow us down. Her name will be announced before the execution that you all
may watch if you have the guts! That is all for today’s news, have a wonderful day folks.”
Yep, I was the one who did it, crazy right? Did you like my act up there? I sure hope you
did. You thought I was going to be the hero who saved the world, right? No, that is
someone else this time, if I don’t get to that hero before you guys do.
“Hey, so could you at least let me say why I killed the old man?” I mean really, come on,
he deserved it didn’t he? Always saying what goes which way, destroying the last forests
we have left in this rotting good for nothing world. Ever…”
They cut me off! “Well it is good that you get to leave this good for nothing world then
eh?” Sure, they were right. But they don’t know what I have up my sleeve. Now you, yeah
you, reading this, listen very closely here is my plan. I am going to get out by…
BAM! BAM BAM! “COME ON HOMURA LET’S GO WE ARE GETTING YOU OUT OF
HERE, UP NOW!” Thanks for breaking my train of thought guys… Well I guess the
teleportation starts now.
“OKAY GUYS THIS WAY WE ARE ALMOST THERE! Just a little further…”
Told you that we were going to teleport, you know, how all books do. Now let… BOOM!!! Oh
gosh… oh no here they come… Back to the scene of the crime am I right reader?
“Homura Akemi is under our custody, release her back to us now and there will be no harm
done. If you fail to cooperate we will attack you.”
Yeah, I know, I went behind a bit. But come on you are the ones behind, making me explain
everything so you can figure out the story. Making me tell you about my life, so calm down
I am getting there.
“No way are we letting her go back to your demand! She is ours now and there is no way
around it!” I quickly cut into the conversation. “WOAH WOAH WOAH! Do NOT talk about
me like I am something, someone’s PROPERTY. I belong to no one but myself understood?!”
Hah! They looked at me as if I was crazy! Do you still hear that? Do you have enough
imagination to hear my voice, their voices, the sound of the bombs and gunshots? Oh wait,
we aren’t to the bombs yet… whoops.
“Alright ENOUGH, I am done with you little twats! Get out now and leave her behind, or
we take her down and leave your little rescue mission in shambles”
I wasn’t just going to stand there was I? Wait what, yes?! Wow reader, you are in the
loony bin. Wait what? I am NOT in the loony bin, you are! Oh wait back to the story; sorry
I got distracted by your rudeness. Maybe I should skip the bombs would you like that,
huh? No you wouldn’t, good then let us continue.
“No way am I letting you guys fight over a little ‘fragile’ thing like me. I can fight for
myself you know! You guys think you are all this and all that, huh? Well wake up! Because all
you are now are two little babies fighting over what you think is yours!”
They just looked at me, probably wondering “Why does she think she can tell us what to
do?” Well, that is because I just can. I grabbed the katana I had on my back, and held it in
a fighting stance.
“You guys go ahead; I can deal with this guy.” I may or may not have pointed my katana
towards them so that they could leave faster… “Actually Homura, those are the people we
want, not you. We actually found out that you were against killing the Commander, and that
all you did was help those poor fools.”
After that he grabbed his katana, pointing it at me. “Well, let’s duel.” With that we
started walking in a circle, and then he took the first strike. I barely dodged it; the blade
tore my right arm sleeve. Next it was my turn to strike, he tuned in a circle, and I missed
completely.
“Ah come on, go easy on the little girl. Plus I have a longer life to live, let me win.” I said
that with a look of confidence, what he did in response was so unbearable that I almost
cried. Why would he listen to someone like me?
“You were a fair fighter, but you are right.” He coughed slightly; his eyes started rolling
back before he said one last thing. “You, my girl, were the one we have been searching for.”
S-searching for? Me? Why would I be searched for, wait what am I doing?! I have to get
back to the other!
“Sleep tight, my enemy.” Wow how cheesy… “Guys! Hey where are you?!” I saw them up in
front, so I ran up and tapped their shoulders. “Okay, come on.” I put my katana away as
they turned around, making a group hug.
“Homura I am so glad you are okay! I was hoping that you didn’t get yourself killed!” That’s
Paula, my best friend. Next John let go of the hug and smacked me, then said sternly, “You
imbecile! You could have gotten yourself killed you know?!”
Gosh I hated him sometimes. Hey, I know what you guys are thinking, no way am I getting
into a relationship with John. He makes me get a head ache just thinking about him.
“Thanks Paula, and whatever John. The important thing right now is that we get to the
base, and leave as soon as we gather our belongings. They probably already know where we
came from since you two didn’t clean your shoes after walking through the forest, nice one
by the way, so hurry it up.”
Funny enough, they listened to me. Paula only listens to John usually, but I guess she had
faith in me this time, I wonder why. Teleportation time, am I right guys?
“Alright ladies, grab your things quickly, and I will take care of the rest. I will keep a look
out for the enemy and after that it will be my turn to back. Go go go!”
Of course we listened to John; I let him borrow my katana because he will need it. Me and
Paula grabbed everything we could then ran back out to John, there he gave me back my
katana and ran inside to do the rest.
“So, Homura, are you really okay? Were you scared about being executed, in front of
everybody?” Honestly, I wasn’t scared at all. I had a feeling that I was going to get out, if
it were me saving myself or Paula and John coming for me.
“You know Paula; I was really hoping that you and John hadn’t left me behind. It was kind
of lonely being in a room with only guards who liked the Commander to talk with.” She
laughed at my comment and then John came back with his things.
After that we were on the road again, we did carry building supplies, though, we might be
travelling for a while now. Luckily enough, there were a few more forests nearby, and they
weren’t ruined yet. We took one south of our old base, just to throw off the army, and
built our new base there. Surprisingly enough it took us about 4 hours to build the whole
thing, we are used to moving a lot by now.
“Alright guys, get some shut eye, we have a lot to discuss tomorrow. Actually, Homura, I
need to speak with you before we go to the sleepy quarters.” Let me guess, he wants to
talk about how stupid I was for staying back again? Oh well, let’s see what the ‘all amazing
one’ has to say.
We walked down to the new office, and he didn’t sit down. Something was definitely
bothering him, so I actually sat down, he probably shouldn’t be bothered anymore.
“So Homura, this is about your position in the group. Currently you and Paula are just two
normal members correct?” What is he getting at here? “Well, I really think you should be
my partner and help me with the higher up business.”
What about Paula? Wouldn’t she be upset about this? I mean, come on, it would suck to be
called a normal while the only other two people on your team are basically the commanders.

The Forgotten~ Chapter 1
“Wake up you’re going to be late!” mother said
from downstairs. I looked at the clock and it read 5:30
A.M. I laid in bed a few more minutes checking twitter.
Great Mel tweeted she can’t go. Mel is my
B.F.F.I.T.E.W.L.F. (best friend forever in the entire
world like forever). She made it up not me.
Sorry, how rude of me I’m Lexi A. Colt. No you cannot
know what the “A” stands for. I am 5’2” and I have
long, curly, brown hair and blue eyes. I looked back at
the clock 5:45. Better get up and get ready.
I’m going to a super cool event called Magcon! I can’t
wait! The only downsides are 1- I can’t be with Mel, and
2-I have to fly. BY MYSELF!!! I hate flying, its way
worse than boats. I mean you could crash and get hurt
or even die. No, just like mother said “Be calm and
think positive.”
