FITTING REAR BIKE VIS BULLETS TO BMW 650GS TWIN TAIL CLUSTER
SOME USEFUL ‘EXTRA’ TOOLS: Headtorch, stiff wire hook about 15cm long, an extra pair of hands.
1) Disconnect battery. Remove plate on bottom side of tail light mount to reveal tail light wiring. I could have spliced
here but it’s not well protected from spray.
2) Remove plastics to reveal wiring to rear lighting (tail, rear, brake and indicators). Identify tail light wiring (by
tugging the exposed wiring under tail light mount) and prepare for splicing. Brown is negative (earth). I soldered all
mine but there are plenty of easier alternative methods.

3) Tape Bike Vis template(s) to guide drilling, drill holes…
… and feed wiring through holes, alongside tail light wire and up to splicing point (wire hook is useful here).

4) Splice Bike Vis wiring (black = negative, white striped = positive) into tail light wiring. Make weather-proof.
5) Re-connect battery, test and re-fit all removed parts.
Whilst the Bullets are not much brighter than the already excellent BMW tail light they’re much, much brighter when
viewed from an angle. As demonstrated by the cover image.
