INFORMATION FOR DISTRIBUTORS
MARCH 2012
Dear friends,
January 2012 is furiously testing our ability
to fulfill promised reaction times for your orders. The January order figure is the highest
since March of 2007, with huge photo-etch
orders. It seems the improvements implemented over the past year in our ability to
expedite the process, and of our information system, were useful, and also our new
restock process works as it should. February pre-orders look great, too, in this case
thanks to the new Bf 109E in 1/48th scale.
It is expected to be a bestseller and seeing
the pre-orders, most of you share my thinking. Right now, I have the first two complete
kits on my desk for a test build, and I must
say this kit simply looks great. As you know,
great details and excellent fit are Eduard
trademarks, and this kit suits very well.
So it is expected that our sales in the following months will be pulled along by our
Emils, and I personally expect the sale peak
of this year to be in April with the newly
styled Royal Class edition. This issue will
be introduced at Nuremberg, and we
expect this release could enjoy a similar
success to the Royal Class boxing of the
Fw 109A-8 five years ago – yes, it was
right smack in March 2007! The Bf 109E
has very similar timing to the Fw 190, with
a very well balanced concept and very
interesting bonuses.
Bearing this in mind, you could ask the
question ‘what interesting items might
Eduard have for March’? Will March be
a dry month? Certainly not, as we can
always find something for our customers!
However, we hope that March sales activities won´t be as hectic as January‘s, or
the expected April ones. Actually, we are
moving our kit storage and kit packing
line to a new facility, a couple of miles

is simple; we need more space for a constantly expanding kit production. The move
starts already in late February, and we
hope the new facility will be fully operational in March. This timing could bring some
delays in dispatching March deliveries, but
we don´t expect any significant troubles.

plan and place your orders as soon as you
can! All orders are dispatched in order of
receipt.
We are in Nuremberg for the Nürnberger
Toy Fair in the first week of February. We
have plenty of good news for you, a lot of

This version of the Fw 190 has long been missing
in our Fw 190 collection. This fact has a simple reason
for it; this is a marginal version in the technical evolution of the Fw 190, with a limited production run.
As you will recall, our Fw 190 family grew very quickly, and we were concerned that this subtype could
be lost among the other more significant versions.
The A-7 nevertheless has its own points of interest,
and is worth releasing, and now feels like the right
time to do so. However, we don´t anticipate the level
of sales as with A-8! The kit comes in the standard
Profipack boxing, with four marking options, photoetch set and a mask sheet with color instructions.
The decals are printed by Eduard. The print is different than that of Cartograf, but we trust in the future
of our own decals thanks to the very high standard
achieved over the past several months of intensive
development, with very close attention paid to a very
user friendly application process.

This release follows the January Su-27
in concept. An Eduard BRASSIN cockpit interior, including seats, is the great highlight
of this kit yet again. The front landing gear
mudguard, a large color photo-etched set,
a canopy mask and large decal sheet printed by Cartograf, as usual, round out the
contents. The kit seems to be on the expensive side, as did its single seat brother, but
understand, this line is not intended to be
cheap. Our goal is to offer well upgraded,
attractive rare releases in this line, offered
in a very limited edition. This is something for
the collector community, and typically they
don’t last long in terms of availability. For
this reason, we will keep the release figure at 1500 pcs only. Actually, each industry
branch has its own ‘Blue Mauritius’, so why
not ours? And why not a ‘Blue Eduard’, then?

for a marginal aircraft type. Also note the
two new sets designed for our own MiG-21s
in 1/144 scale.
There is another very eye catching release
in the 72nd scale line. This is a piece of the elevator area on a US NAVY WWII carrier. This is
very nice piece, designed to be used as a base
for the build-up kit. This production grouping
will grow every month this year. These products
lie between the photoetch sets designed for
aircraft kits and ships – this one is designed for
aircraft, of course, although it is also a major
piece of a ship. Concerning the ships themselves, we are releasing four sets of ship accessories in 1/700 scale in March.
The BIG ED collection is extremely interesting
this month with the 32nd scale He 111P (REVELL) and P-51D (Tamiya) packs on the list.
These types are real bestsellers in the single
packing and trust us, they will be the money
makers in the BIG ED packings, too!

The March photoetched collection is our usual
reaction to other manufacturers’ activities over
the past couple of months, although it is often
more like ‘hyperactivity’ given the goings on in
32nd scale. There are some highlights in other
scales, and among them the two sets for the
new 72nd scale Ju 88A from Revell are worth
mentioning, as well as the 72nd scale collection
of three sets for the Eduard Hellcat Mk.I. Note
that set 72529 Hellcat Gun Bay is designed for
the British Hellcats Mk.I and Mk.II only. Other
interesting sets will be the sets for the 48th scale Hurricane Mk.I by Italeri. Note also the set
for Roden´s UC-43/C-18, which is a very nice
