Mission Statement
The mission of PAWS is to prevent neglect,
suffering, abuse, and cruelty to animals; to
provide information and raise public
awareness of animal issues; to promote
responsible pet ownership including education
for the need to spay and neuter; and to strive
for humane care, treatment and well being of
animals through kindness, education,
information and action.

Pet Adoption & Welfare
Society of Carteret
PAWS was established to fill a need for an
alternative animal shelter, improved animal
care, and greater awareness of animal issues
in Carteret County, North Carolina.
PAWS brings new focus to adoption,
spay/neutering, and community education
and participation.
PAWS is a membership organization,
open to all, and responsive to the needs of
less fortunate animals and the community.
Pet Membership & Memorials
Now your pet can also become a member of
PAWS. Additionally, you may also make memorial
donations in your pet’s name. Simply complete
this form and send it in with your renewal.
(Sorry, pets are not eligible to vote at this time!).

Through membership dues, contributions
and volunteer commitments, the goals of
PAWS will be achieved. For the sake of the
animals, please consider joining PAWS. Your
membership will be active for the calendar
year in which it is received beginning on the
payment date. Memberships received after
October 1 will be active through the
following year. Please consider an
additional donation or a volunteer
commitment.
PAWS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation,
and therefore all donors may deduct
contributions, bequests, legacies, devices,
transfers, or gifts to our organization
as long as the provisions of applicable
law are met.
