February Crime Report 2016
PURPOSE: The purpose of this report is to provide an analysis of Coeur d’Alene crime for
the month of February 2016. Information provided:
o Compstat Report for calendar month and year to date.
o Compstat Monthly Map for calendar month.
o Month-to-Month Comparison Maps Part 1 Crimes (Compstat Crimes) by
calendar month.
o Crime by Neighborhood & Locations of Field Interview Map for calendar month.
o “Temporal Heat Index:” Calls for Service Chart by time of day and day of week.
o *Calls for Service Change by calendar month.
o *Incident Report Change by calendar month.
*In an effort to improve our Crime Analysis products, the previously used Neighborhood Crime Change Maps
& Statistics have been replaced with the more precise Calls for Service Change and Incident Report Change

Aggravated Assaults – 67% Increase: February’s incidents were all domestic with the exception of the Odom case.
Auto Burglary – 26% Decrease: See maps for details on locations. Targets were unsecured vehicles or items in the bed of trucks.
Items taken were cash, wallets/purses, tools, prescriptions and a snowboard. Surveillance footage was captured during a burglary in the
Fairway Drive area. Three subjects in their early 20’s can be seen entering the victim’s vehicle.
Non Residential Burglaries – 78% Decrease: 1. CDA Resort Golf Course, 900 S. Floating Green Drive – Window broken and cash
drawer taken. No suspects identified. 2. Construction site, 1790 W. Bellerive Lane – Forced entry into storage trailer. Numerous tools
taken. A surveillance photo of the suspect’s vehicle was distributed, no leads at this time.
Residential Burglaries – 33% Increase: No noticeable trends. The majority of the reports had neighbors or acquaintances mentioned
as persons of interest.
Robbery: 1. Hwy 95 x I-90 – Victim stated that a transient black male approached his vehicle displayed a handgun and attempted to gain
entry. 2. 1427 E. Best Ave. – Suspect kicked victim and took her vehicle while at a gas station. The suspect crashed it soon after and
was arrested.
Vehicle Theft – 80% Increase: Five of the incidents reported had known suspects, either family or friends. One incident was a stolen
U-Haul, which was closed by arrest. The remaining two incidents have no suspects, both of these vehicles were recovered abandoned in
CDA.
