THE MARCH SOCIAL
The March social was held at Guadalajara in Bastrop and as you can see from the above, was well attended. As a
reminder to our newer members, the monthly social is held on the third Wednesday at 6:00 in various locations.
If you have a suggestion for a social, please contact Pat Riordan (512—332-6296) or [email protected].
The April social will be held at Old Town Bar & Grill on the corner of Main and Chestnut in Bastrop. Mark
your calendar and come on out and join us at 6:00.
FROM OUR MAN IN TOKYO
It is hard to believe that it will be six months already on April 1st. The time has gone by so quickly, and we are continuing to learn and grow.
Our oldest daughter and her family (with grandsons) will be here with us on March 29th for a week and we are excited.
We continue to have car expositions in the areas around the hotel and enclosed are some photos of those. There are
different models by name offered here that are from familiar manufacturers. I will be sure to get photos of the next car
show in the hotel. In the last three months we have hosted Ferrari, BMW and Audi. It was hard for me to take photos
due to the sets, but I will next time just before the events begin.
The Cherry Blossoms may be out by the time that everyone is reading this and it is a time that transforms the City. I will
be sure to have photos for the next newsletter!!
BAC PICNIC IN MAY
Mark your calendar and make plans to attend the Cruisers picnic at Fisherman’s Park on Saturday, May
16 from 11-2. The club is providing BBQ and all the fixin’s from Billy’s BBQ, but that doesn’t mean you
can’t bring your favorite dessert or side to go along with it. (hint, hint)
We have reserved the pavilion to keep us comfortable, so rain or shine, the picnic goes on. Hope to see
you all there.
CHECK OUT OUR NEW WEBSITE
If you haven’t been to the Cruisers’ website in a while, you will be in for a very nice surprise. Thanks to
John Sabol, and our webmaster, Chad Arnold, the website has taken on a whole new look. Please check
out bastropareacruisers.com to see what everyone is talking about. If you have comments, suggestions,
pictures, please send to Chad Arnold at [email protected].
ROD RUN TO THE ROADHOUSE
For those who haven’t heard yet, the Bastrop Roadhouse has opened a second location in Paige. A
group of BAC members took advantage of the nice weather on Sunday, March 29 and traveled to sample
the offerings. The new location has ample outdoor seating and it looks like everyone enjoyed the drive,
the weather, the food, and the friendship. Thanks to Nancy Matocha for the photos.
If anyone has suggestions for future runs, please contact Pat Riordan.
