Hello!
We are excited that you are interested in on-campus living, and we have enclosed some valuable information
for you. Please take some time to carefully review it.
We believe that living on campus is an experience that assists students in becoming successful, both
academically and socially. This is why we require all first-year students at CMC-Leadville to live on campus.
We have one professional staff member and five paraprofessionals who live in the residence hall to assure a
quality experience for our residents.
Living on Campus helps you become an active part of the CMC-Leadville community. Recognized by
Backpacker magazine, the Community College Times and National Geographic as one of the Top Five outdoor
colleges in the U.S., life at CMC in Leadville offers:
= Access to an indoor climbing wall and outdoor ice climbing wall
= A student-built terrain park behind the residence hall
= FREE outdoor gear rental, including splitboards, nordic & alpine skis, snowshoes, ice climbing
equipment and more through the College’s Outdoor Pursuits program.
= Study Abroad opportunities in enticing locations like Madrid & Granada, Spain, Guatemala,
Costa Rica & Dublin, Ireland, and more each year
= An 18-Hole Frisbee Golf course
= FREE parking for all students
= FREE tutoring in most subject areas
= Great events such as the annual spring Rail Jam
= More than 20 KM of walking, hiking, biking and X-C ski trails (CMC and community trail system)
= Students from all over the U.S. (65% of our residence hall population comes from out-of-state or abroad)
First-year college students are required to live on campus. The ability to live within
the guidelines of the contract is a requirement for all residents. These guidelines help to promote a healthy
and academic atmosphere. The agreement is for the full academic year. Exceptions may be considered for
individuals graduating or transferring if written notification is provided at the time of signing the agreement.
Please carefully review and consider the terms, policies and regulations within the contract. Make sure to
carefully read the front and back before signing.
Single rooms may be assigned by request for an additional $1,000 per semester. We use the information you
provide on the application/agreement to assist us in selecting the best roommates possible. We recommend
students return the Housing & Food Service Academic Year Agreement no later than the 1st of June to ensure
the most compatible roommate selection.
Assignment letters with all pertinent information will be sent approximately two weeks prior to the
beginning of each semester. An official assignment cannot be made until the agreement is complete and
we have received your deposit in full.
A meal plan is required for all residence hall students. We offer two meal plan options: 14 or 19 meals per
week, each with $100 of flex money per semester. Flex Dollars can be used in the Cyber Cafe as an alternative
to the Coronado Cafe. The Cafeteria offers three meals a day Monday through Friday, and two meals per day
Saturday and Sunday.* Room and board charges are billed at the beginning of each semester. The current rates
for room and board charges are billed each semester and are as follows:

The Leadville Campus is the highest elevated college
campus in the country, at 10,152 ft! Colorado’s two highest peaks
– Mt. Massive and Mt. Elbert- are right in our backyard. Within an
hour driving distance of the campus, students can access seven
ski resorts Ski Cooper, Vail, Beaver Creek, Copper Mountain,
Breckenridge, Keystone, and Arapahoe Basin. Ski Cooper, Leadville’s
local mountain, is located just 10 miles from the campus.
The campus itself consists of six main buildings, all of which were
named after mines in the region: Mountain View Residence Hall,
Climax Molybdenum Leadership Center, Pinnacle Resource Center,
New Discovery Academic Center, Crown Point, and Coronado Café.
The view from your window at the Mountain View Residence Hall
includes Mt. Massive and the inspiring Sawatch Range, pictured
above, west of town!
Our Residence Hall has 64 rooms with occupancy capable of housing
128 men and women located on three floors. Each room has its
own private bathroom (shower – no tub), phone line and cable
connection and two high speed internet connections.
The resident rooms have hardwood-look flooring and have built in
wardrobes including a dresser/vanity combination. The rooms have
one bed, mattress, desk, and desk chair provided for each resident.
The building has food/beverage vending, laundry facilities, study
rooms, a computer room, front desk and a multi-purpose room
