The Time Is Now
2012 ANSERTEAM Conference
March 28–30, 2012
Hilton Head, SC
WELCOME!
It is my pleasure to welcome each of you to the 2012 ANSERTEAM Annual Conference. The conference theme, “NOW IS THE
TIME,” is what we will be focusing on throughout the next couple of days, and we are excited to have this time with each of you
individually and collectively as a group. As we reflect on the eight years since ANSERTEAM’s inception, NOW IS THE TIME to look
forward to our 10-year anniversary!! Together we will be a $25M-plus alliance!
Our conference is action-packed and promises to be filled with a great distinguished keynote speaker/trainer, an update
from ASA, panel discussions, question-and-answer sessions and a lot of opportunities to network with fellow members, staff
members and vendor partners.
This year we are very pleased to have Toby Malara from ASA join us. Toby is ASA’s government affairs counsel and he will be
sharing the latest legal and legislative developments that affect your business. Not only will he share updates on paid sick
leave, immigration reform, and unemployment taxes but will he’ll include the latest information on the Affordable Care Act.
In addition to Toby, we are thrilled to have Julia Hubbel as our keynote speaker and trainer. Get ready to be challenged on
creating and crafting a 7-second value proposition!! You’ll also learn to script and deliver a 15-second capability statement and
much more. Julia is a professional speaker, seminar leader and author who specializes in catalyzing women-, minority- and
veteran-owned companies to win business with Fortune 500 corporations.
Again this year, we welcome and look forward to hearing from our vendor partners and strongly encourage each of you to meet

ASSURANCE AGENCY
Fifty years of history.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…..
Oh, sorry that’s not right. Different story, let’s start over!
A long time ago, way back in 1961, when cell phones and personal computers were strictly from the world of science fiction,
and gas only cost $0.25 a gallon, the Assurance Agency was born. A fledgling operation with only three employees, Assurance
began its journey by providing highly personalized insurance services to local businesses.
Today we are experts in the toughest parts of the market, specializing in providing property and casualty insurance solutions
and designing and administering employee benefit programs for individuals and businesses across the country. Creative and
innovative, Assurance contracts with over 300 top insurance carriers to provide the widest breadth of insurance solutions
available to our clientele. And, with a distinctive corporate culture that encourages fun and camaraderie to boot, we take pride
in the fact that Assurance has grown into one of the largest independent insurance brokerages in the United States.

HALEY MARKETING
It started with our own staffing company…
Way back in 1993, we were where many of you are today...struggling to stand out from
dozens of competitors in our market...fighting margin pressures...and pushing our sales
team for better results.
We were tired of fighting these battles every day, and hearing the same excuses: “We’re not hiring,”“We’re happy with our
current vendor,” and our personal favorite, “We don’t use staffing firms.”
Then we discovered a better process...a process that combined marketing and sales in a way that nurtured relationships,
showed people the real value of our services, and allowed us to get more appointments with less effort. A process that enabled
us to double in size in just three years!
Then our “a-ha” moment hit: we could share our process with other companies (as long as they didn’t compete with us!). And
that’s when we started Haley Marketing.
Since then, we have helped hundreds of staffing and search firms with their marketing needs. We’ve expanded our services into
email marketing, website design, print and online marketing. And we’ve grown our team.
Today, Haley Marketing is the largest marketing firm dedicated to servicing the staffing and recruiting industry. And we look
forward to helping you stand out. Stay top-of-mind. And sell more!

years. Depending on the structure of your organization, tax credits may also
pass through to your personal income tax.
hoW caN these tax programs iNcrease your profits?
Some of our clients are saving more than $150,000 per year. The tax credits
earned are a dollar for dollar match against your Federal income tax. This reduces
your tax liability and increases your bottom line.
WheN is the best time to start these programs?
Many States are understaffed, which is causing a delay with Certificates being issued. Some States are taking longer
than 1 year to approve an application and issue a Certificate. Keep this in mind when forecasting your budget and
taxes. It may take more than a year to start seeing results from the tax programs. The sooner you start the program,
