Contract Negotiations
As many of you know, AVHS has been in
negotiation with the City of Auburn to form a
sheltering and animal control partnership. The
City will provide animal control services specific
and devoted to Auburn while the AVHS will
privately run a non-profit animal shelter for
Auburn’s lost, stray, and homeless pet
population.
AVHS formed a contract committee and has
formulated a response with some revision
suggestions for the City to consider. The revised
contract will go in front of the AVHS board this
week and to the City over the next few weeks.
We will keep you updated as discussions
proceed.

Pet Licensing
Once AVHS is fully operational, 100% of every pet license
sold to Auburn Residents will go to AVHS. I have heard
many people say “Well I will just wait until then so I know
where my money is going” We encourage you to
reconsider… While AVHS does not directly receive
licensing fees, the city does receive a credit toward their
expense with King County – this shows support and
indirectly helps AVHS because the City of Auburn can then
utilize that credit towards cost of renovation for our shelter
building. We need your support! Please license your
Auburn dog or cat.

Assistance
Organization that they have been overrun with
cats and kittens from the Auburn area. SC Cats
does not have a shelter but relies on foster homes
to care for cats while they wait for their forever
home. If you could help foster a homeless
