Environmental seminar
Carroll County Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy is now selling tickets for the 2013 Storybook
Playhouse to be given away to a lucky winner at Mayfest. You can see the playhouse at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center and you can buy tickets there or at
Horton's Books, the Neva Lomason Library, or from
any Ferst Foundation member. Support this project and
help us raise funds to mail books to our children ages 05. Bring the love of reading to a child and build a better
future for our community!
The Environmental Safety
seminar co-hosted by the
environmental projects committee and industry leaders
council was a well-attended
success in April. Many industry leaders came out to
hear the latest on air quality,
storm water management and sustainability issues.
Michael Heisey, RA-LIN Pre-construction Manager
and Sumant Kulkarni, RA-LIN Scheduler, have recently
acheived a Certificate of Management in Building Information Modeling (CM-BIM). Administered by the
Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), the
certificate program is the industry's first and only BIM
certificate program that teaches the practical application
of the BIM process for commercial construction firms.
Special thanks to presenters, T. Luke Owen with International Erosion Control Assoc., Jacqueline Dost of
Keep Carroll Beautiful, R. Kenyon Thweatt with The
Clean Air Campaign, Waymond Bishop of OFS, and
Matt Ducharme with Alternative Environments.
A special thank you to Carroll EMC for hosting the
continental breakfast.
