2012 1Mission Annual Report
2012 Annual Report
Thank you for making 2012 another year of extraordinary growth
and impact. Your prayers, gifts, and donated time enabled
1MISSION to continue impacting hundreds of families throughout
Latin America.
We finished the year with over 30 families ready to build and/or fund
in three countries, with dozens more already serving toward a new
home.
An additional 500 families have been identified throughout
Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Mexico. They are excited to begin their
path toward a new house and a new life. As we continue to
respond to this growing demand we pray that God will
continue to resource this mission. We are extremely
grateful to all our supporters who have
partnered with us on this journey.
Thank you again for your
amazing support.

Spiritual & Physical Integration: We’re committed to the development of the whole person and community, including
compassion for both the physical and spiritual needs of people. We serve all people regardless of race, religion, ethnicity,
or gender.
=*SS*C>
Strategic Exchange: We respect communities as active participants in their own development, not passive recipients.
Productive, reciprocal exchange is foundational to everything we do. We strive to train, equip, and empower local people
and organizations to make an impact in their community.
We’re a nonprofit giving people in poverty the
opportunity to earn a home by serving in their
community. 100% of public donations go to
our programs in the field.
Stewardship: The resources available to us are a trust from God through our donors; therefore we demand of ourselves
high standards of professional competence, financial accountability, and an overall commitment to excellence. We are
committed to outcomes and measurable results rather than mere activity.
Servant Leadership: The leaders of 1MISSION are Christ followers, and each one a servant. Using Jesus as our
example, we seek to imitate him in humility, passion, and love for all humanity.
Sustainability: We concentrate our efforts on long-term sustainable solutions that last beyond our presence.
Communities that are owned by the people, demonstrated through volunteerism, are strengthened through leadership
training, education, and community development programs.

SINCE THE BEGINNING...
(FEB 2008 - DEC 2012)
The numbers above are certainly worth celebrating; however, we understand that numbers are only as good as the
people and stories behind them. We’d like to introduce you to one family’s story that we had the opportunity to serve
Meet the Medina Family
this year.
2012 IMPACT STORY
The Medinas (Noe and Fatima) lost their home after Hurricane Mitch devastated much of Central America in November
1998. Shortly after, the government provided land for many of the refugee families. The Medinas built a small house
from zinc sheets and old wood that they were able to salvage from the hurricane debris and the nearby garbage dump.
The condition of their old house caused a great deal of anxiety and sadness for Fatima. She knew that each rainy season
the house would be flooded with water. The metal roof and walls are rusty and full of holes. At times high winds have
stripped off entire sections of their home. Fatima and her family prayed for many years that God would do the seemingly
impossible; provide them the opportunity to earn a new home.
Fatima served her community (and continues to serve) as an early detector of Malaria. When the hospital is a day’s
journey away, early detection of Malaria can mean life or death. She also became certified by her local government to
lead prevention-based workshops on Malaria and other illnesses that are common in her region. Fatima and Noe also
volunteer at their local church leading small groups and teaching basic sanitation. Her entire community has been
impacted by her service and it’s become contagious. There are more families serving now than ever before. Check out
the cover of this annual report to see Fatima’s community presenting the keys to her new home.

Here at 1MISSION, transparency in everything we do is of the utmost importance, finances are no exception. In a
charitable world, where a few bad apples have spoiled the bunch, it’s incumbent upon us that our commitment to
financial transparency is unparalleled. These principles are profoundly evident in our tireless allegiance to the “100%
model”; where 100% of public donations go directly to our projects and programs in the field. We continue to be
blessed, and immensely humbled, by our generous donors whom God has used to lift up this ministry. On behalf of
everyone at 1MISSION and the people we serve around the world, I would like to express our eternal gratitude to all
who continue to believe in, and support, this mission.

HOUSE BUILD TRIPS
Every year we’ve hosted more and more people on short-term mission trips to
Rocky Point, Mexico. In 2012 we hosted more people, built more houses, and
made a bigger impact than ever before.
In the past, the majority of our groups have been from churches. In 2012, along
with our 30+ church partners, multiple fire departments, businesses, and college
groups also spent a weekend with us building homes. We are incredibly thankful
for all of our trip partners. Just last year, trip participants helped put over 200
people in new homes.
EXPANSION
ijıIJij
Since the beginning, we’ve longed to see the 1MISSION model in action outside of
Mexico. In 2012, we were proud to see that vision become a reality. We
completed three houses in El Salvador and had one family serving hours in
Nicaragua by the end of the year.
This means that families throughout Mexico, El Salvador, and Nicaragua can now
serve their community as a way to earn a new home. We’ve partnered with local
organizations on the ground to make this as sustainable and effective as possible.

EVENTS
It was another monumental year in our events department. The 2012 207Miles
ride raised over $50,000 in donations, rider registrations, and corporate
sponsorships. A portion of these funds are what made our expansion into
Nicargua and El Salvador possible.
The Gala in 2012 was a huge success. Held at the Bentley Projects in downtown
Phoenix, we raised over $100k in less than 15 minutes. Our gala helps offset
admin and operating costs so that we can continue to send 100% of public
donations to projects and programs in the field.
