Project Profile
THE CHALLENGE
The backyard already featured a circular paver patio,
which had been installed in the first phase of the project.
The patio sits at the edge of the backyard, overlooking
a pond. Wanting to have room for many people to enjoy
their peaceful backyard, the homeowners thought that a
freestanding wall around the patio would provide more
seating space—they just needed to find the perfect
product.
THE SOLUTION
Huinker selected the Artisana® multipiece wall system
for this project. Available as both a retaining wall and
freestanding wall, the Artisana multipiece product
combines blocks of multiple heights and sizes and a
rich, chiseled-stone texture.

said. “The look of the blocks blended perfectly with the
rest of the landscape.”
Huinker also used Artisana corner units to build columns
at both ends of the freestanding wall to further enclose
the patio and to give it a crisp, finished appearance.
THE RESULT
With the addition of the Artisana multipiece wall, the
patio is warm, inviting and cozy. The homeowners have
a standing fire pit that fits perfectly in the center of the
circular patio; the freestanding wall provides plenty of
seating to enjoy it on summer evenings.
“This was a great project,” Huinker said, “because it
only took about 24 hours to complete, but it transformed
the patio. The homeowners are really pleased with it.”
