“PITA” is a film based on the famous play “The Father”(1887) penned
by renowned Swedish writer August Straindberg , also considered as
father of Swedish literature. Hindi adaptation of this film is done by

novelists.
Dukhi, an Untouchable, asks Ghasiram, a Brahmin, a favour could the
Brahmin fix an auspicious date for his daughter's marriage?
The Brahmin agrees and in return makes Dukhi slave over household
chores and himself retires for a siesta. While chopping wood Dukhi,
weak after an attack of fever, dies. The corpse lies close to the road
used by Brahmins to go to the village well. The untouchables shun it for
fear of police investigation. Ghasiram ties a noose around its ankle,
slides it out of the city limits and sprinkles holy water on the spot to
cleanse it of the untouchable touch.

him in five star hotel where he is staying. Reluctantly Meenakshi
agrees to meet him but the romance slowly gets sour as Meenakshi
starts seeing through the falsehood of Chandrahas's character. In a
peculiar circumstance, Chandrahas forces Meenakshi to pose as
Journalist which actually turns out to be a real interview.
Meenakshi exposes Chandrahas and walks out.
