amazon.de - Online banner and customer giving
Amazon has been supporting the GRC and other national societies in the case of
disasters by placing banners on amazon.de. Banner placement on amazon.de took
place for the first time following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan 2011. Since 2015
amazon.de customers can also donate directly via their Amazon customer account.
Amazon waives the standard transaction fees and forwards 100 % of donations to the
GRC.
Bayer – health stations on the Philippines
The BAYER Cares Foundation and the BAYER AG support the German Red Cross with
donations for disaster relief and reconstruction. In response to typhoon Haiyan on the
Philippines in November 2013 BAYER AG donated 100.000 Euro to the German Red
Cross to fund immediate relief.
Since July 2014, the Bayer foundation has supported the reconstruction of health
stations on the Philippines with donations now totalling Euro 90.000. These funds were
raised by Bayer AG employees.
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer - Pro-Bono legal advice
International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP is supporting GRC with legal
advice on a pro bono basis. Based on the GRC's special role in humanitarian law, both
partners agreed to extend their partnership further.
Daimler - Employee giving for GRC refugee relief
Car manufacturer Daimler has been supporting GRC activities for many years now, via
corporate and employee giving. Foremost, Daimler is funding disaster relief activities,
recently donating Euro 601.000 for refugee relief.
Hansaplast - Bringing first aid home
Hansaplast and GRC are partnering under the umbrella of "bringing first aid home".
Since 2014, projects from the German Red Cross Youth recieved funding to establish
first aid courses in elementary school. Additionally new marketing and teaching
materials have been developed to upgrade Red Cross first aid courses according to a
new framework.
Innocent - the big knit
Innocent has been cooperating with the German Red Cross for many years: Since 2011
we have worked together with the smoothy producer in the “Großes Stricken - the big
knit” campaign. In this campaign the idea is to use some wool and some dexterity to
knit as many hats as possible and do good. The hats are then used to decorate smoothy
bottles, and for every bottle sold the company donates 20 cents to the GRC.
Merck - disaster relief partner
Merck supported the GRC to the tune of 250.000 Euro for its Ebola campaign in West
Africa. Merck has been a GRC partner since 2015. Most recently Merck engaged in a
health project for the Lebanon, in which Red Cross volunteers deliver medical services
to the local population, but also for the many refugees from Syria.
Pampers - Deutschland wird Kinderland
Seit 2015 unterstützt Procter&Gamble (P&G) mit der Marke Pampers die DRKGroßelterndienste im Rahmen der Initiative "Deutschland wird Kinderland".
Zudem spendete P&G im Rahmen der Flüchtlingshilfe über 1 Million Produkte an DRKEinrichtungen. Zuvor engagierte sich das Unternehmen nach dem Hochwasser in
Deutschland 2013 mit 250.000 Euro.
SAP - Wiederaufbau in Nepal
SAP und der SAP Soldarity Fund e.V. fördern regelmäßig Einsätze des DRK, aktuell z.B.
ein Projekt im Bereich Shelter und Wiederaufbau in Nepal.
Auch nach der Balkan-Flut und der Ebola-Epidemie wurde das Unternehmen und seine
Mitarbeiter aktiv. Im Rahmen der Flüchtlingshilfe unterstützte SAP RotkreuzGesellschaften in den Transit-Ländern Kroatien, Slowenien, Serbien und Türkei.
Sebapharma - health and hygiene
The Sebapharma GmbH & Co. KG supports GRC’s international work in the field of
“health and hygiene”. The partnership kicked off in March 2015 and is structured for a
sustainable engagement in a WASH project in Togo. Coincidental with the international
Day of Water, GRC president Dr. Rudolf Seiters was pleased to officially accept an
oversized sebamed cleansing bar and a cheque for Euro 50 000. Both partners have
expressed their interest to continue the cooperation until 2018.
Siemens - disaster relief
The Siemens AG has been supporting the Red Cross for many years: Following
particularly severe disasters, the company calls on its employees, regionally or globally,
to raise funds and donate to the local Red Cross, matching all funds raised by the
employees. After the earthquake in Nepal this generated Euro 650.000 for relief
supplies. In addition, Siemens also sponsored a freight flight to Nepal.
Volkswagen - for a resilient society
Volkswagen AG has been joining forces with the GRC since 2014, working together for a
more resilient society, for a future-ready rescue service and for the further development
and distribution of innovative learning models in first aid. The car maker is also actively
committed to the GRC’s emergency relief. In 2015 Volkswagen donated 200.000 Euros
for disaster relief in Nepal. The Wolfsburg-based company’s employees arrange the
voluntary staffing of GRC facilities providing refugee aid in Germany.
