Spring is in the air and it's a great time to get those LTV's out on the road and go exploring! The LTV is such a versatile and convenient way to
travel, being able to park anywhere and easily navigate in heavy traffic, but you owners already know that.
Just having returned from an extended road holiday for the first time, myself, I am just learning to appreciate what a wonderful and
interesting world we have and RVing really is the only way to explore!
I would like to thank Earl and Nancy Weir of Harlingen, Texas for their hospitality during our stay in Harlingen. What an interesting part of
Texas they live in with the bridge to Mexico and South Padre Island just a few miles away. The many Snow Birds in the area made us feel as
if we were back home! We're very much looking forward to exploring another part of the country next winter.
The spring shows are drawing to a close and the new models manufactured by LTV have been well received. We have several new dealers
who will be excited to show off the new models. (see below for details and specs)
Circumstances and lives continue to change and personnel at the office are not immune to change. And so
I am pleased to share that Tonille, our very capable and friendly receptionist, and J.R. would like to
introduce their beautiful daughter Giovanna Marie.
Big sister Gabi is so proud of Giovanna who arrived on Feb. 19, weighed 9 lb., 4 oz. and was 23 inches
long.
A new face at LTV is Ken Thomas, the new Controller. Harv, who had been LTV's Controller for 12
years, left in October to be closer to family in BC.
FreeSpirit
Freedom II Serenity
Since September, LTV has been busy with the
Research and Development of 4 brand new units for
the LTV product line. Both Chevrolet based
motorhomes were introduced this past September
along with the units on the newly redesigned Sprinter
chassis shortly there after. Each one of these products
has been well-received by our dealers and customers
and have resulted in many new owners added to the
LTV family and also some new LTV Dealers.
FreeFlight
Freedom II Libero
The standard body Free Spirit on the 3L V6 MBE
Diesel Engine Sprinter Van. This unit is 23'9”' long with
an interior height of 6'3". Newly added features consist
of low profile ducted air conditioning, a back up camera
monitor built into the rear view mirror, solid surface
countertops, microwave/convection oven, rear electric
sofa with 3 seat belts, glass lid stove and sink, full
wetbath, awning and generator.
...continued on next page
The 24'4” full fiberglass widebody Freedom II Serenity on the 3L V6 MBE Diesel
Engine Sprinter Cab Chassis provides the consumer with additional space throughout
the coach. The separate bedroom area in the rear can be equipped with a Serta Mattress
or an electric sofa with 3 seat belts, while the front dining area converts into a double bed
when needed. Features included are a full dry bath with shower, large refrigerator,
microwave/convection oven, glass lid stove & sink, optional 19" TV's for the front
and/or rear, solid surface countertops, awning, ducted air conditioner, generator, dual
coach batteries and many more available items.
The raised-roof standard body Free Flight on the Chevrolet Van comes with a Vortec 6L
V8 gas engine. This 20'4" van provides functunality and intelligent desing in a smaller
package. The sleeping area consists of rear electric inclining single dinettes that convert
into one large bed, an optional 19" TV with dvd and crank up antenna. There is a wetbath
with handheld shower, flip up sink & toilet located on the driver side. On the passenger
side the kitchen hosts a large refrigerator, glass lid stove and sink and microwave.
Available features range from an ultraleather package to an awning, generator, and back
up camera & monitor
The Freedom II Libero is built on the Chevrolet Cutaway with a Vortec 6L V8 gas
engine. The 25' full fiberglass widebody is is very similar to the Freedom II Serenity but
the difference in the chassis and engine will provide a dream come true for all of those
Chevy lovers out there. Most of the available options and features that are offered on the
Serenity are offered for the Libero also.

SERVICE BULLETIN
Important Sprinter Van/Chassis Information
All sprinter vans and chassis with the 2.7 liter turbo diesel engine, from late 2004 through 2006 are equipped with a plastic turbo
resonator. When this part fails, it puts the vehicle in “limp home” mode in many cases requiring a tow truck to get it to the nearest Five
Star Dodge Sprinter service center which can be many miles away. As an owner, you know the potential cost of losing one or more
days of service from one of your vans.
Further, the sudden loss of power, with no notice to following vehicles can present a dangerous situation.
At the request of a Five Star Dodge Dealer our company developed a simple billet aluminum replacement that is a lifetime solution
and takes only minutes to install. It is designed NOT to fail. Our part is in use on large fleets of Sprinter ambulances, armored cars,
expediters, contractors, delivery vans and RV's. We will be happy to provide references upon request.
Now you can avoid a potentially costly and dangerous failure of the stock plastic part with our inexpensive, easy & fast to install
Model SRE-06 turbo resonator eliminator.
Please take a look at our website for photos, F.A.Q.s and more information. Or, please call (530)-676-4729 and we will be happy to
answer any questions or to email you brochures or installation instructions.

BC SUNSETTERS
The BC Chapter Rally will be held June 3 to 6, 2008 in
beautiful Southeastern British Columbia. We will camp at the
Fort Steele Campground. It is a beautiful 80 acre off-highway
park complete with hiking trails, heated swimming pool,
outdoor games and friendly hosts that welcome dogs. The Fort
Steele Campground is located about 10 minutes north of the
city of Cranbrook and 1 mile south of the Fort Steele Heritage
Town, on Kelly Road.
Nearby are many golf courses, fishing, gold panning, a casino,
great restaurants and, a must-see, the Fort Steele Heritage Town.
The surrounding Rocky Mountains with the abundance of
wildlife are spectacular and make for good sightseeing.
We are looking forward to seeing all our friends as well as
welcoming those of you who have never experienced a BC
Sunsetters Rally. Reservations are not required at the
campground. If you would like more information on the area go
to the website www.fortsteelecampground.com. Please contact

EVERGREEN LEISURERS
Are seeing the sun in more ways than one!!!!!!
Great American RV on I-5 in Fife (Tacoma) is now handling
LTVs. They expect to receive their first shipment of vans
sometime in Feb. Remember LTV now has two rigs on Chevy
cutaway chassis. Charles Sonny Laning (my cousin) has been
listening to me bitch for a few years now about why Great
American RV doesn't handle the SUPERIOR B class van that
Leisure makes. He's familiar with the product as every year I
take him a new brochure. If you're interested in trading in or just
looking at the new product be sure and stop by and ask for Sonny.
Our rally is coming up June l2th leaving the morning of the 15th
after breakfast. Jesse Downs and I will be there the 11th having a
potluck pizza party for dinner so come early if you want to get
some extra visiting in to kind of kick things off. To make
reservations at the Hi-Way Haven RV park in Sutherlin, OR call
1-800-552-5699. Let them know you are with the Evergreen
Leisures.
I'm off to Florida for a few weeks! Aren't we lucky to have these
"go anywhere vans" to travel in.
HAPPY WINTER TRAVELS

BLUE RIDGE LEISURES
The Blue Ridge Leisures will gather on May 2nd and May 3rd at
Creekside Campground in Edinburg, Virginia. It is a 45 site
campground situated on a stocked trout stream. Each site has,
water, sewage disposal, and cable TV. The restrooms are very
clean and neat. Our meals are taken in a wonderful pavilion with
a wood stove and a TV. Creekside Campground is family owned
and run. They are great people to be around. We have reserved
ahead all the sites along the creek. If we have more than this there
will be sites for them also. Anyone going needs to contact
Howard Picard by April 23. Ph. 757-789-3303 and the e-mail is
[email protected]. Glad to say we already have 5 vans signed
up. We always eat well with a covered dish supper on Friday
evening, a group breakfast on Saturday morning. On Saturday
evening some of us will gather together and watch the Kentucky
Derby wearing our homemade Derby hats. Nothing expensive,
simply something that brings a smile to our faces. After the race
we will have a group meal similar to Friday evening. Sunday
will be a group breakfast and an informal Sunday service for
those wishing to attend. At some point during the weekend
those wishing to re-new their wedding vows will have the
opportunity at Creekside. Anyone wishing to do so please let
Howard Picard know 2 weeks prior to the rally. Although most
of us go for short walks and sit around swapping stories, there is
plenty to do in reference to touring. Edinburg is a quaint town. 5
miles away there is major shopping at a Walmart along with gas
stations and assorted grocery stores. More importantly, the Blue
Ridge Parkway is very reachable. Well, wishing everyone happy
travels, stay safe, and bring some interesting stories to our rally.
Looking forward to being with youNancy and Howard Picard

FLORIDA FLAmingles
The 2008 Florida RV Super Show (Tampa; January 19) was the
meeting place of the newest chapter of LTV owners. The
“FLAmingles” Leisure Travel Van Owners Group held its
organizational meeting at the show. The meeting brought
together twenty members for food, fellowship, and a variety of
door prizes (with thanks to RV World/Nokomis and Leisure
Travel Vans). Bill Harder attended and answered questions
about LTVs.
To facilitate communication, a FLAmingles Yahoo! Group has
been created. All Florida owners of LTVs are invited to join this
FREE group. This is a great place to ask questions, interact with
other LVT owners, coordinate travel, share experiences and to
sign up for the 1st annual Spring Rally of the FLAmingles. This
fun rally will be held at Highlands Hammock State Park, April
25-27. To join the group, visit

TEXAS LEISURE TRAVELERS
The Texas Leisure Travelers are looking forward to the 2008
Spring Rally scheduled for April 4 - 7 at the Schulenburg RV
Park in Schulenburg, TX. It is conveniently located between
Houston and San Antonio on I-10 and Route 77 goes North and
South through the town. It is known world-wide for its painted
churches.
Our rally will begin Friday with check-in and hugs until 4:00
p.m. when we will have our opening Happy Hour with light
snacks followed by a pot luck dinner at 5:00 p.m. Saturday
morning will be breakfast in the Rally Hall followed by a tour of
the model airplane factory. After a lunch on our own, we will
tour the painted churches in the Schulenburg area. There is a
large antique sale in Round Top, TX , which is only 32 miles
away, and is open Wednesday through Saturday. If you are truly
interested in antiques, you may want to schedule several days to
attend as it covers over 300 acres and includes dealers from 49
states and Canada. Some areas have an admission fee of $10.00
which is good for the entire 4 days. Saturday evening will be a
cook out sponsored by Leisure Travel Vans. Sunday morning
will again be breakfast in the Rally Hall with good-byes to those
working couples who must return home. Sunday will be a free
day to attend a church service of your choice and tour the local
points of interest on your own. Sunday night will be dinner at a
local restaurant. Monday morning we will have breakfast and
good-byes until we see each other again. There are 2 painted
churches and the Shiner Brewery located a half hour away in
Shiner, TX. Since the brewery is only open Monday through
Friday, those who would like to take the tour should either stop
on their way to or from the rally. The Schulenburg Museum is
also only open Monday through Friday. If you would like to see
it, please plan for Friday or Monday.
The only cost is $23.25 per night for the RV Park. The rally rate
is also available before and after the rally for those who want to
stay longer. You can pay any admission fees or restaurant meals
on your own. Please send your check for $46.50 for Friday and
Saturday nights or $69.75 if you will be able to stay until
Monday morning, to Earl Weir, 4110 N. Expwy 77-7216,
Harlingen, TX 78550. Please make your check payable to

DIXIE LEISURE TRAVELERS
Some of the troops arrived on 03/16 and others on 03/17 at the
F.D. Roosevelt State Park near Pine Mountain, Georgia. The
weather was nice with the mornings around 50F and the days
around 65F, just right for having a nice warm camp fire at
night. Several of the gang went to the Callaway Gardens
Store for breakfast Monday morning. The food was great,
biscuits; sawmill gravy, country ham, red eye gravy, sausage,
grits, fried potatoes, eggs, pancakes, etc. YUM! YUM.
Activities around the area were enjoyed by those that chose to
explore. Some of the places they went to see was Warm
Springs, GA where the Little White House is located
(President F.D.Roosevelt's retreat), Pine Mountain (antique
stores), Columbus, GA (Military Museum, River Walk,
Maritime Museum), Andersonville Confederate Prison.
Gayna Joy did a great job planning the evening meals Monday
and Tuesday. Thanks Gayna. After the evening meal we spent
time around the camp fire swapping tales and woes. The more
senior members: Pat & Vic Turner (Chapter Leaders), Harry &
+Gayna Joy, Bob & Glois Bruce, Randy Corley, and Don &
Deanie Reser spent time getting acquainted with the newest
members: Fred & Delores Hundley, Eric & Jan Birmingham,
Charlie & Shirley Higgins, Bill & Lee Monroe, and Buz &

a professional story teller. George & Sue Spahn (Flamingoes

in preparation for their impending Rally this spring in

can also spray around the picnic table, children's play areas,
around the doors of your house etc. as well as on standing
water. Do not spray directly on wood. It will not poison
water or harm children or pets.
