MISSION:
QUIZ NIGHT
Get your friends and family to put on
their thinking caps to help you raise money
for your event.
PENS AT
THE READY!
Holding a fundraising quiz is easy; you could have
friends and family over to take part at your house, or
go all out by holding it at a pub or local venue. It’s a
fun and interactive fundraising idea that everyone can
get involved in to support you.
In this pack we’ve included four rounds of questions
which should take around forty minutes to complete.
If 24 of your friends
donated £3 to attend your
ultimate quiz night raising £70,
this could buy a Bunsen burner
to help our scientists ignite our
groundbreaking research on
a daily basis

TOP TIPS FOR
FUNDRAISING
SUCCESS
Try adding a few extra rounds
‘Guess the picture’ is always fun, and ‘name that
song’ is also a great addition. Just don’t forget
to include some extra pieces of paper along with
your answer sheet.
Promote your quiz
Ask your friends and family to promote the quiz
and consider putting up posters in your local area.
Remember, the more people that take part,
the more money you’ll raise.
No cheating
How to raise money

On the day, make sure to let everyone know the
two quiz rules: don’t cheat and have fun!

Team names
Get everyone to think of an inventive team
name – you could even award extra points for
the best one.
Prizes
You need to consider what the winner will get;
maybe make a certificate or provide a group prize.

on fundraising, take a look at the Cancer Research UK website:

CASE STUDY
Sarah
“I’m Sarah and I’m experiencing this horrible
disease for the second time in three years.
I was originally diagnosed with breast cancer
back in 2010, a year after my daughter was
born. I had a lot of treatment and also had
both breasts removed.
I started taking tamoxifen and continued
until I found a lump in my neck in late 2013,
which was biopsied and unfortunately
diagnosed as a secondary tumour in my
lymph nodes. I’ve been having treatment
since January 2014, and thankfully the
tumour has shrunk significantly.
One day I hope to be cancer free and able
to watch my beautiful daughter Isabella
grow up. Along with my family and friends,
she’s helped me get through my darkest
days. That’s why I take part in Race for Life
– to help make sure that I’ll be there by her
side in the future.”
